How is a buyout guy worth a 2nd round pick? If a team is willing to eat salary just to dump a player, said player has negative value to that team. If he was worth a 2nd round pick Detroit would've already traded him.
better speak to houston first. there's no point in talking to other teams if they plan on claiming you in the first place
this tweet reminds me that other than james obviously being friends with the twins, brodie also just played with him in the past 12 months and could help get him to just sign w/ us outright
Funny how people on this board was trashing Morris when they thought he was going to the Lakers and how quickly the narrative changed once they found out we have first dibs to sign him lmao.
Wow, pick him up and drop somebody (frazier). He would have to start though. Move House to the bench. Man we would have so much depth on the squad with him. James, Russ, PJ, Kieff, Covington, Ego, Green, Carroll, House, Rivers is 10 strong. Whoa!
why would he have to start? he shouldn't and you're not dropping 2 way players for him. that doesn't create a spot for him
he isn't a must get but if the cards play out right, not only are you keeping him from other title contenders but it's more added depth to your own team at the end of the day, the rockets would be fine with or without him
thank would be the biggest benefit of him going to the lakers. harkless cant go to clippers and it would clear a path for him to come to the rockets and start at 3
Cut candidates... 1. Chandler (Doesn't fit play our style, but is a solid vet available in an emergency situation. Great in the locker room) 2. Thabo (Still has something in the tank defensively, but his offense is on the back of a milk carton. Experienced veteran) 3. Clemens (Undersized guard, but can flat out score. Is there even a place for him on this team?) 4. Harty (Has shown flashes of being a solid rotation player, but MDA obviously isn't a fan. Cut bait and open that roster spot for guys that fit the system?) 5. Bruno (Fits the system, but is a huge question mark.)
Yeah but why not claim him off waivers using our tpe. If he can't play this year he is still another aggregate salary we can use in trade next year, and he doesn't put us in the luxury tax.
why not? I don't know. its either you gotta ask Tilman that or the players in that locker room. other than those things, like you said why not
We are going all in...unless they are waiting for someone else, they are getting Kieff. Doesn't make sense to keep Harty or Chandler if we are in win now mode.
Have to keep Bruno, he is the only one that actually fits system and is playable. Plus Morey has been trying to get him back all season and gave up assets to acquire him, no way you give up on him so early.
I agree. I read somewhere that Bruno was one of the targets they were after when they initially cut Gary Clark, but the deal didn't materialize the way they imagined.
