The 10 day contract is odd. I’ve boiled it down to one of three things.

    1. It saves Tilman money
    2. Rockets are unsure of the fit and want flexibility.
    3. Jeff Green is unsure of the fit and wants flexibility.

Spurs are about to blow it up. Understandable they dont want Carroll.

Caboclo might not see anything more than garbage mins and will keep Hartenstein company till the end of the season. I just dont see him getting significant PT considering Morey brought in 2 Thabo-esque vets we all know how MDA operates by now.

He just needs to be unafraid to bang with bigger guys, unafraid to shoot open 3s and not be terrible at switch defense. Seeing how effective Thabo is as the center makes me excited for Jeff Green cuz he is a slightly more athletic Thabo.

Interesting point. I can see how lack of center can open up the floor for Russ for a drive in layup. Makes sense. But what I actually meant to say was also that Mike is going all-in with his strength as an all-offense strategy by going small ball where he has had success but struggled in playoffs. It seems this is the last chance he has to prove how deep he can get Rockets again in playoffs.

    4. In case of any other buyouts we want we can sign them to be eligible for the playoffs

Feel like this is a 6 years too late pick up.

If jeff green is the new tucker, who can hit 3's and play center, he might get a contract.

a career 33% 3 point shooter and another one is 35.9%, if neither of them can defend then again it is a waste of two roster spots

Maybe 6 years ago he would have gotten a lot of money (based on his potential) and then let us down (like he has every where he has been due to those un-fufilled expectations) but now that we know what he is and he seems to have the ability to play 5 in our small ball line up, getting him on a cheap deal is not so bad.

What does Morey like to always say "flexibility" - why lock yourself into a guy that may or may not work, not like people were knocking down his door to get him to play for them after he was cut. If a better option comes available like a Harkless then you want to be able to have an opportunity to pick him up.

We shouldn't get too excited about Jeff Green yet. Maybe this is finally the right fit for him, but aside from his tenure with the Cavs which people will describe as a positive even though it shouldn't be regarded at all because it was just Lebron versus a horrible conference, Jeff Green has been a negative on all other teams. OKC got better without him, he did nothing for Boston, he was a negative with Memphis and Washington, and Utah got better without him.

Again, there's always more to the story, but just saying, might seem to be a much flashier move than it actually is
