No, Mike is not an idiot. He is simply doing small because Russ requires us to go small. I am sure if we could of gotten a competent center like Aaron Baynes or Myles Turner that can shoot the 3 and defend, then Mike would have no problem going big. This is entirely about maximizing Westbrook's talents and not hurting Harden either. It's ballsy what he is doing, but Mike knows he is going to get the maximum out of this team playing this way. I agree with him as well.
Upgrade over Thabo and House I guess. At least Jeff Green does have exp playing PF before so he can totally play C in the midget ball offense. And he is 6'8 so technically we arent midget ball anymore. Green/Tucker/Roco/Harden/WB Now that's a solid small ball lineup, esp once Caboclo can come off the bench.
