i don't think speaking in a second, foreign language, or some cultural hurdle works as an excuse when you've had players like hakeem and yao, who struggled with english, but were as respectful as can be to other opponents when talking in the media. they kept their trash talk on the court and out of the press. even in other sports, you have players like jose altuve, players who have trouble speaking english, but know that respect and humility is a universal language. it's a reflection on one's personality more than anything. giannis has shown no humility and has learned all of the worst things from today's social media, look-at-me attention whoring. i can't blame him though... even the biggest stars like lebron and steph do the same thing. and the media keeps feeding the egos of these guys. it's rare to find players like harden nowadays... someone who can take all the criticism at face-value, keep quiet, respect his opponents when talking to the press or when doing media sessions... and let his play on court do all the talking.

Gianni is acting out of guilt. Guilty conscience knowing he didn't deserve MVP last year. Bitter that Harden is a better player.
With the small amount of compassion I can muster for a 25-yr-old worth hundreds of millions of dollars for putting a ball through a hoop, I will say this: Seems kind of inevitable he'd become a punk. These guys are basically still just kids in terms of maturity. Now add on top of that that this one has the entire media falling over itself to lavish him with praise and awards and always favorably comparing him to another specific player. Curry came off to me as a spoiled prick as well, and well, hey, same exact thing. In fact, it coincides with the same exact media villain. And that's where my sense of logic and understanding ends. Harden's had to endure so much **** and been stomped on constantly as a bellows to puff these others up. So, **** the whole lot of them.
I really hope harden uses this all as fuel to beast out post all star break. Dude needs to show them what he can do.
