CP3 is winning plenty of games. They are just 2 games behind us.

    We don't have 2 MVPs.

We just had to radically change our team because the pieces didn't fit. Russ may fit alongside Harden, but Paul was a perfect fit.

    Obviously he wasnt.

And did NBA void either of James or Russ MVPs?

I would not put it past them, but news to me.

Chris Paul is not better than Westbrook not lately is what I mean.

CP3 couldn't even beat Jonas Jerebko or Rudy Gobert of the dribble. The man is washed up and doesn't fit Harden's timeline like Brodie does.

    Fork Vujabich.

    WB is the Machine.

That said, the contract is still 40 million, and too much going forward.

    Westbrook>>>>>>>>>>>>>CP3! No debate.

Westbrook is a superstar. CP3 is a super role player.

But Brodie and Hardhead won't make it as far as Paul and Hardhead. They won't even do as good as the team did with Howard.

Not when it pertains to this team.

You talk to me when RW helps this team get to the WCF like CP3 did.

Get Westbrook to 34 years of age and see how he then performs.

Without counting injuries, we know CP3 got more of them.

If he is still able to do that, yeah, I would agree by then.

I am just perplexed how people do this kind of comparisons without some context other than both are earning 40 millions a year.

This is called the 'Honeymoon phase' when everything seems to click for Russell, but there will be a time when it doesn't.

Chris Paul's guidance and pushing of the youngins got OKC their 6th/7th seed, virtually just 1 or 2 games behind the Rockets without one clear superstar.

The thing is Paul didn't trick the Rockets into that contract.

Morey or Tilman willingly gave him that, so it's their fault.

Sure, Paul is a better fit on a team like the OKC where his veteran leadership is asked of him and not sheer stats stuffing.

Where you have Dennis Schröder, Gallo, SGA do the scoring.

(Also if Harden had Durant's injury, wasn't able to come back for a year, don't do it.)

Paul better fit for what we had built. Better complimentary player next to peak JH13. I do believe that group had peaked though. Id have to see CP3 finish a title run to believe he can play 38 min a game in playoff intensity without getting hurt. Obviously he is playing well this year.

Id still rather have WB. I think our ceiling is higher over the next 3 years.

I think this is the best argument for WB vs CP3. It keeps our window open longer. It’s still up to Morey to put pieces around those 2 guys. Harden and WB is a damn good base to build on.

Paul was a perfect fit for harden but that perfect fit did not win. They should have of Paul had not been hurt. But I think the Paul we are seeing this year is different from the one we had last year and with his injury history it was probably a smart idea to get out of that contract. I think what the rockets have been this year was not a good gauge of who they are but what they will be the rest of season is going to determine if this was a good trade.
Also this trade was not just for this year, it was for next couple of years too. Let's see how cp holds up
