Under most circumstances, I would agree. But, if a player really gets hurt due to some form of retaliation, what do you think the blow-back will be when its pointed out that the league office had ample evidence that such and such could happen and did nothing? Think the players association isnt going to grill the league under such conditions? Think the media will go silent on the league not being able to protect its own players? On its inaction? Think the tarnish on the game of baseball wont be that much worse?
Not sure about this one, since it's the players also threatening the violence. Seems like the MLBPA could tell them all to cool it themselves.
If something happens, no matter who does what in the meantime, I am pretty sure MLBPA will blame the league rather than take any of the blame themselves.

Luckily, Crane and Click aren't going to be so emotional. I am very happy with how Correa has come out defending the team. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean his back is going to be healthy enough to warrant a massive contract extension. You get paid for showing up and performing on game day. Someone that can work a press conference doesn't warrant a 300 million dollar contract.
