The problem isn't with scandal fatigue. The problem is everyone's mind is already made up and nothing more will convince 30-35% of voters to change their mind.
And here is another reason why Liu's nomination was pulled at the last minute, in advance of any questions about the roger stone case... william barr places his own as "acting" in her place. How convenient...
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/13/...tion=click&module=Top Stories&pgtype=Homepage In an interview with ABC News, Barr says he won't be bullied by the President, he makes it harder for Barr to do his job, and it's time he stopped tweeting about DOJ cases. He's right of course. Very hard to do his job of protecting Trump when the perp keeps opening his big mouth. Barr doesn't need to have Trump tell him what to do before he goes ahead and does it. Trump should have more faith. At the same time, Barr did let him down by allowing his prosecutors to submit an honest recommendation. I am surprised to see him throw Trump under the bus like that. If his comments weren't vetted first, Trump will probably tweet something to suggest he's losing confidence in Barr. But, he may well have coordinated the comments first, in which case we might not see anything from Trump. Sounds pretty tough from Barr -- until you remember that he was going to intercede to go easy on Roger Stone whether Trump tweeted or not.
“I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases,” Barr told ABC News Chief Justice Correspondent Pierre Thomas. Didn't tell Fox & Friends so he might survive this one...
I suspect the Dems I wouldn’t be shocked if this is a lie and this was something they sanctioned in order to legitimize what they have done and will do here soon. It’s so they can try and claim some distance between Trump and Barr. I hope the media isn’t this stupid to fall for this. .... and the media immediately goes first for a hot take from Lindsay Graham who says “I’m all good now thanks to Barr’s statement”. Looks like they’ve learned nothing.
it is all a cover up. If Barr doesn’t say anything it makes it more apparent that he interfered on Trumps behalf. I guaranteed trump knew what Barr was going to say. I bet they planned that interview
Trump is usually too dumb and volatile. This was probably planned and he was told after the fact that it was his own genius chess move suggestion. That's what happens when you have an autocrat with limited faculties.
He wants to do his dirty work in the shadows but trump won’t shut his fat trap. He literally thinks he’s above the law and with a complicit senate he’s been right so far.
It would be denounced as vastly irresponsible but promising to appoint a special counsel to investigate William Barr and Trump DOJ abuses on day 1 would be a good move for a politician if, say, they were angling to win the Democratic nomination for a national office, such as President.
My Trump supporting friends I don't consider to be bad people. They will acknowledge Trump does horrible things yet in their own words the other side is "evil" and they have fully bought into the idea that Trump is the only one who can protect them from rampant socialism, open borders and unlimited abortions. It is a master con that Trump has pulled.
This **** is unbelievable, every single day the outrage. Can you not see how silly you look at this point?
I see how little you care about our constitution. That's what I'm seeing, with all due respect. It isn't a silly look for you.
What do you think of the President now admitting that he had Giuliani working with the Ukraine after continually denying it? Is it normal to have a President out and out lie as much as he does?
He was found guilty on all seven counts. He showed zero remorse for any of it and based on that seems willing if not likely to commit similar crimes again. I believe the initial sentence recommended was fair.
I say the whole political system is nothing but lies. They are all liars, every one of them. I'll take the liar that has turned Washington on it’s ear and exposed them all for what they are.
