It was probably good that they got this wrong giving trump an out to deescalate.

But still, how did they get this so wrong? From nil, nobody was hurt to 50 TBI.

Thirty years ago the response would have been, "50 guys concussed? Rub a little dirt on it and get back in the game."

Trump has already leaned hard into the idea that preventing TBI "ruins" the NFL, so I guess he is consistent in his ignorance.

If this were playing out on the other side of the isle, everybody would be screaming "Benghazi!!!!" and demanding all the emails about the cover up.

Well, it's clear now Trump backed down. We got hit hard, with no response.

Trump put his tail between his legs and told the Pentagon to lie about how hard we got hit, so he wouldn't look like the wimp he is.

Yes, and they would be falling all over themselves to show sympathy and support for the injured soldiers.

In this case, however, I'm glad Trump pussed out and didn't respond. He would only make matters worse!

But the majority of republican senators will not support... keeping trump's power to "rush into or blunder into another war" intact...

Senate to rein in Trump's war powers after Iran strike
“The last thing this country should do is rush into or blunder into another war in the Middle East," says Tim Kaine.

I don't think it's some cover-up. If they did a count after the strikes and everyone is intact the quick no casualty line is logical. Brain injuries start showing up and the Pentagon reports them.

Trump has typically said retaliation happens if American lives are lost.

So we blew up one of their leaders, if they really wanted to retalitate they would go after Trump, and not our military.

The bipartisan senate bill passed 55-45... trump will veto, and there are enough senate republicans who have abdicated their constitutional responsibilities to trump there won't be a senate override. But at least majority of the senate took a stance...
