Need to have a legit backup plan if they let Reader walk. The defense already took a big hit losing Clowney last summer, take away Reader and the DL suddenly becomes the weakest unit on the team.
This is a tough one to understand. They think we should be content with a playoff win here and there.
BoB now has a rookie DC calling plays for the very first time, an OLB coach with zero NFL experience, a secondary coach in his first year as a non-assistant, and an assistant secondary coach with 2 years coaching experience in the Missouri Valley Conference. This is completely normal.
Not to mention an offensive coordinator that admittedly does not have a fourth and one play from inside the opponent's 15 yard line.
I have faith in Blackson, Dunn and I would also sign Suh in FA. 1 yr 13 mil that he got last season should do the trick. A front of Watt/Suh/Blackson/Mercilus with Martin coming off of the bench looks pretty good to me. Sign Jones in FA and draft Gladney and the CB's Jones/Conley/Gladney/Johnson dont look too bad either.
50m for Gordon? No thanks. Hyde and duke did a great job and both are cheap. Rather draft a rb to throw in the mix.
For 5 years tho and 10 million a year isn’t breaking the bank for MG3. Watson Hop Gordon And with Tunsil locked up and a young improving offensive line yes please. And also think about cutting Fulton that’s like 7 mill right there to use to sign Gordon.

0 sacks, 2 TFL, 1 QB Hit, and 20 combined tackles is not good for a starting DE. And please don't try and tell me he's good at other things that don't show up in the stat sheet. I'm fine with Dunn, he is a solid backup which is what Blackson is at best.
