Should the 76ers consider a trade with Ben Simmons for a good offer?

I have a hypothetical worst timeline kind of trade:

It's offseason 2020 and Philly and Houston are both fresh off disappointing playoff runs. Morey has been fired and replaced with a Tilman lackey. Elton Brand fires 76ers head coach, and he himself only has one more offseason to save his job. In a move that is seen as desperate for both teams, philly trades embiid to Houston for...James Harden. And then 76ers hire Mike D'Antoni as their head coach.

From Philly's PR Team: Embiid was always a malcontent, we hoped he would mature but never did, and he was such an injury risk. We are now adding an elite offensive force to an elite defense, which wins championships. We see Harden as our starting point guard, Simmons in a role that can only be described as part Capela, part Westbrook.

From Houston's PR Team: We tried to make it work with Harden but he was just too much of a malcontent, not a winner at the end of the day. Now we can continue our legacy of bigs, Embiid is taking classes from Hakeem and he's ready to win big. He'll fit with Russ better than Capela because he can shoot from the outside, carry the defense and get a buck in the low post. Tilman is all in now and ready to go into the luxury tax. We're going to float rumors that Rockets tried to hire back Nick Nurse, but we'll end up hiring Sam Cassell for a very cheap amount and play the nostalgia card.

Not saying I'm rooting for this, but I wouldn't be shocked.

    edited for clarity.

This is generic, but true. Any team should consider a good offer for any player. The question is always 'what is a good offer'? The more you, and the market, value a player, the better the offer needs to be. So...it depends on the offer. Although I've been hearing all the talk about Simmons fit in Philly, I haven't followed it closely enough to know what the specific issues are and analytics...but what would they need to improve the analytics? Then...would whatever team has a player(s) that fit that have a need for someone like Simmons? I wonder if getting a 'good offer' might prove difficult. If they can't get a 'good' offer, should they do it anyway? ie, is it approaching fire sale level? Or is it 'make me sell my home'?

Trading Simmons would be dumb Sixers should instead trade Embiid. Embiid may be the better player now and technically the best center in the world but that dude is playing on borrowed time. Given the state of his legs I think WB actually has more years left than Embiid at this point. Plus Embiid has some Shaq-itis on him he is lazy on his conditioning and that extra weight def isnt gonna help his legs.

Sixers can def trade Embiid to Miami for Nunn and Herro and use that capspace to get more spacers, they still got Horford who can be their center. That would def open things up for Simmons there is no reason he can't play like Giannis last year as long as he plays on a team full of shooters and spacers.

Philly never should have let Redick leave.
