    You forgot the biggest one!

He was the main catalyst behind moving the team to Houston!

Masai and Nurse will do alot more damage than Morey and Mike.

    They hungry for another Finals.

Toronto vs Bucks would be fun.

right. I’ve talked about this in several posts. This will be morey legacy and it will all be based on championships won because if no titles are won this would have been all for nothing. Win now. All or nothing approach. So much talent was given up. Cannot daily him for the harden move but the CP3 deal gutted the team. That deal and ryno deal seemed desperate. But the argument is it almost won a title in 2018 and made us more competitive last 3 years. It’s quite interesting and it’s easy to look back in retrospect but we will always have that what if question. What if bev and trez and Lou were still on this team? How far would we have gone in 2018? Where would we be now?

We got destroyed by the Spurs in 2017. Why would we be any better in 2018? Lou Will shoot 17% that series from 3. The guy is a career 26% shooter from deep in the playoffs. For his ENTIRE career. He also happens to be one of the worst defenders in the league. He’s vastly overrated, even by some on this board who should know how useless he was in our 2018 run.

That Clippers team last year was good, and fun, but it was still an 8th seed that lost in the 1st round. Their record without PG and Kawhi this year isn’t good. Trez is a beast. Lou Will and Bev are average players

    What an idiotic post

    1. do you think Morey purposely traded all these first round picks to avoid tax and get rid of bad contracts? OWNERSHIP. That goes for Les too

    2. He did build a championship roster! A fkn hamstring happened dumb

7 teams have won since Morey took over so I’m guessing you think 23 GMs suck. Of those 23 teams I’m willing to bet rockets have had the most wins and success. Morey is a top 10 GM easily.

It feels like we had an influx of dumb as **** posters like Joe Smith within the last year and I don't know why. My guess is that they are haters of Harden.

Of those teams, how many of them didn't have their own top 10 draft pick contribute?

We have two MVP players still in their prime on our squad without ever having a top 10 draft pick in the time he's been here.

too long to respond to all the bad opinion (and I stopped reading it after a bit)
just want to harp on him taking over a team with 2 of the top 5 players in the NBA. He took over in 2007, 2007-08 season was the last full season TMAC played with the rockets so he basically had TMac for 1 full season, which was 1 full season then he had Yao Ming. kind of hard to cater a roster around tmac and yao 1st year on the job, only to convert it to a Yao led team the following year.
lets not forget through his wheeling and dealing, he started his 2nd year as a GM he had added Artest, Scola and lowry to an roster of Yao, Tmac, Battier. That roster was loaded, its too bad they could not even play a full season together.

To sum up, everything that went right for the franchise was somehow blind luck or accidental and certainly had nothing to do with Morey. Everything that's gone wrong is Morey's fault regardless of whether he had any real control over it.

You guys are so thick headed, you are all missing the point here. It isn’t whether Yao Ming or Tracy McGrady were injured – Daryl Morey won a lot of regular season games because he came into a good situation as GM.

Moreover, yes most of the GMs in the NBA are terrible – Daryl Morey falls in the middle if you examine his actual transactions.

The point to focus on is that most GMs never ever have one great player, Daryl Morey has had three great players during his tenure – so regular seasons wins isn’t the metric to focus on, what did you accomplish with those great players?

And even all the aforementioned isn’t the real thing to focus on. The real point here, is not how many regular season games Daryl Morey won, or which trades and draft picks he messed up, the entire point is at what cost?

You haven’t seen the cost side of the equation yet, that comes due over the next decade.

The Rockets are winning now, so fans aren’t experiencing the cost – when they start experiencing the true costs of the Morey style of team building, then they realize that there is a much better way to build a roster through solid moves which don’t gut the franchise of draft resources, and sacrifice an entire decade – I’ll call it the rockets lost decade, in the process of trying to put together a competitive team.

But the length that homers will go to justify Morey’s terribly bad record on many transactions is astounding – and says a lot about human beings lack of objectivity – once they believe something, you can show them contrary evidence, and they will just start “explaining” away the evidence to stick to their original belief structure.

It’s not what Morey did, it’s the way he did it – and there is a better way to build a team in the NBA.

This is the biggest gut jobs any GM has ever done to an NBA franchise – and most Rockets fans are completely oblivious to this fact. You will wake up eventually, but there are some real thick-headed individuals on this site.

Just a quick question who are the Assistant GMs that are in Analytics after Morey. If Morey decides to leave Tillman.

Morey seems alright to me. Two legit superstars, a great third wheel in covington, very good role players in tucker and gordon. Good supporting players in House, Rivers, sefolosha, mclemore. Undersized and likely to always get outrebounded, but I understand what they are trying to do. If Hartenstein and Caboclo develop, would help tremendously.
