Not permanently. However I got into craft after always being a Crown Royal guy. I did like flavorful beer like Shiner Bock or even cheap non watered down mass produced beer.. Im very proud as a Houstonian of St Arnold's and Karbach. I actually worked on Karbach St at a non related business when they started in 2011.

All that being said, I never had cider until a couple of years ago. It was love at first taste. I still like liquor but its hard to consume any beer. This is inspired buy a newly discovered by me Texas made cider, Bishop Cider Co.

Edit: Uh oh, im in Sherman TX, home of my father. Just went to Bishop Cider web site. Its a Dallas product and i may have not seen it in Houston because it may have not migrated south.

My bet, this product will grow/migrate

I believe Austin Eastciders has the local Texas market on ciders. I've seen it at almost every bar. Bishop is doing well also more recently but not as commonly sold.

Very familiar with Austin Eastciders. Love it. One thing about Bishop was not having to go 6-pack. Intangibles

Not really my thing, but I've been meaning to check this place out, just because they're right down the road: http://hyecidercompany.com/

Also a newish rum distillery there that would be more more interesting to me: https://hyerum.com/

@bigdaddy, you've got people in the area, anyone been to either of these places?

Sherman, tx has a great brewery called "903 brewing", they make fantastic beers. I wonder if they had a hand in this cider company?

I like Ciders too - they're great when you're away from home because they're typically a lower ABV and they don't smell like beer.

The Bishop Blood Orange Cider is good and it's not too sweet. It's similar to the Austin Eastciders Blood Orange.

There's also the Outlaw Cider Company in Grapevine..but I haven't tried it yet.

903 has some great stuff including an awesome coconut stout, but they are not related to Bishop Cider. Sherman, TX is about 70 miles from The Bishop Arts district in Dallas.

If you are in to Craft Beers, you should get the untapped app. It allows you to rate and keep a list of all the beers you try. You can also see what your friends are drinking.

    I don't like cider.

    I don't like Jameson.

But if you put a shot of Jameson INTO a good glass of cider... it's heaven.

    Try it.

I've had "coffee" beer. I don't care for coffee, but I like the beer. Never heard of tea beer or even seen it on a menu. I'll keep an eye out.

@pgabriel ... does it actually taste like beer or is it more like cider or seltzer beer.
