we could use him off the bench in a Gerald Green kind of role. streaky but can pile on the points at times

    Crabbe would be good defensively

I'm not sure if this was posted.
    From the NY Post

"Waiving Ellington would open up more playing time for Damyean Dotson, who also is a free agent. Power forward Bobby Portis, who is repped by Bartlestein, also could be a buyout candidate."

Out of anyone Bobby Portis is the best center option if he became available. The fact that he can stretch the floor play a physical brand of basketball. Is something I’m a big fan of. But Morey could be against his post ups

Honestly, I would like both. Ellington is at his best running off screens like JJ Reddick. Having a big/ PF running around chasing Ellington would help this offense.

Portis would be an insanely good pickup

Excellent on offense (3ball and midrange, not great finisher) but surprisingly lousy on defense for 6'10 7'2 - rim protection, switch defender, post defender, not good.

Maybe because poor later agility and 31" max vert.

Come to think of it...how incredibly pathetic of Charlotte to buyout MKG.

Let's say with Williams okay..he is about to retire anyway.
But MKG? They couldn't find one trade that gives back a 2nd rounder this summer or this TD?

If I was a Hornets fan I would be pulling out my hair in rage.

I look at it like this: MKG is a better and younger version of Thabo. If you have the chance to make a small and cheap improvement, you do it.

That said, I would prefer Portis since there’s a more obvious need and fit. His defense leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s the buyout market. You’re unlikely to find starters and players without obvious holes in their game. If you can end up with a rotation or even a situational player, I’d say it’s a win. Tucker is logging too much mileage to not add at least one player.

Could be an Eric Gordon replacement. Waiters is an ace defender when focused.

Everyine knows he can score and handle ball but shooting super crazy efficient from 3P this season - 47%.

    Still only 28.

This could be the dunker and PnR threat to pair with Harden when Russ sits.

    Bismack Biyombo - 6'8 7'7 wingspan 40" max vert

Also used to be an excellent switch defender.

What happens if Tucker or Covington get nicked up? Imagine our playoff hopes with Thabo?

Thabo is not the answer, short term AND long term - Rockets need an upgrade all across the bench and get younger if possible.

And Rocket were at peak defensively with 3 lock down defenders.

    Remember:

    Ariza-Luc-Tucker

Toronto used him the right way, Charlotte hasn’t used him correctly

Michael Jordan is one of worst Owners in the NBA, such a hypocrite, as a player criticizing the Owner and GM of the Bulls for not spending more. Yet he is Worse than Jerry Reinsdorf, Jerry Krause.

He can't build a Team, Draft a Legitimate Superstar and always a Lottery Team.

Rozier is a good player and young. Having a good season as his first in a starting role. Shooting career highs from the field and three
