If I am D.Morey, I would move Heaven and earth to get Christian Woods. He would fit perfectly with this team. In addition, I would resign Gerald Green and make a play for Aaron Gordon.

Our frontline is too small I like the approach of playing small but the Rockets went overboard!! I think with Westbrook, we need frontcourt players that can shoot 3's but also play defense and Christian Woods and Aaron Gordon fits the bill

 

Wood is my favorite target. He’s a modern CENTER and he’s perfect next to Russ and Harden as a third option.
i dont think the MLE is going to be enough. We would need to send Eric there or to a third team for a SNT.

 

Agreed. Athletic 6’10” kid that can stretch the floor with a solid 3-point shot and plays well off the pick and roll. Only 24-years-old and shooting almost 39% from beyond the arc... 77% from the floor.

 

Christian Wood would be a major addition for the Rockets but the odds are long. There are teams that can offer more than the full MLE and beat out the Rockets best offer. Let’s wait and see how the market develops. The Rockets best hope is that teams are scared away by the short resume he has and aren’t willing to give him a long term deal.

 

I think we'll have to wait and see what the cap situation is at the start of the new league year before we can make that assumption.

It's quite possible that literally every team will be above the cap starting the league year and that 2/3rds of the league could be in the tax. In that scenario , few teams would be able to offer more than the NT-MLE.

This is not the year to be a free agent looking to cash in.
