Ah okay now I see why you are upset. From my perspective, Bell would have played garbage minutes at the end of games... at best.
Once again Off to the buyout market we go soon... not really impressed with the moves we’ve made but hopefully we can reacquire Nene, GG and Joe Johnson and all will be forgiven Morey !
Dwight > 1st WCF appearance in 20 years- "Morey Sucks!" CP3 > a hamstring pull away from a championship - "Morey's awful" Forced to trade for WB > "Morey's garbage" Mortgaged whole future because of an owner who penny-pinches > "Morey's the worst!" I guess when your boss makes you do your job while blindfolding you and tying your hands behind your back, we can call you "garbage" too. He hasn't been perfect but there are very few GMs I'd rather have.
2025 Breaking News: Rockets acquire Gary Clark for 2 first-round picks. Correction: The Rockets do not have picks available until 2039.
I disagree, I think he makes mistakes but fixes them pretty fast - however, he made a DOOZY by signing CP3 to a max contract if you are not going to roll with him all 4 years. Now we are hamstrung and compounded it by adding another year with Westbrook. I think everything since Tillman got the team is under Duress, and his biggest GAFFE was tweeting about China - that is costing him wiggle room in making the team better, which is his main job. I personally expect him to be gone sooner than later, maybe even this offseason - and it would be a relief for him - he is a great GM - someone will get a really good one..... Morey does not deserve the constraints that Tillman places on him..... DD
It hardly bears repeating but extending CP3 was effectively part of the deal to acquire him. Maybe if you're Donald Trump or a Senate Republican you could rationalize giving him the Calgary Screwjob after he made you the very best team in the NBA but the Rockets weren't going to be able to do that without poisoning the team
How about taking a team hamstrung by aging, injured superstars on huge contracts a decade ago and turning it into a perennial contender and top 5-10 team without the benefit of a top 10 pick, a huge or sexy media market, and pretty much only one major marquee free agent signing (Dwight)? And along the way making a dozen amazing trades, recognizing talent nobody else did and consistently being a top 4-5 team in the West despite playing in a stacked Western Conference? There's just so many things he's done that point to him being one of the best GMs in all of professional sports that to try to make a list would take me a couple of hours. And what you just said here strikes me as shockingly ignorant for someone who claims to be a Rockets fan and to have followed the team since Morey became GM.
he doesn't suck but he's not as good as people make him out to be. Pretty above average GM if you look at his entire tenure
I said he did well early on with the rockets. Look at the moves he’s made lately. The team is “all in” and aren’t even as complete as teams that have considerably more flexibitity to improve in the future.
