Another trade deadline is going by the wayside, and per usual the Rockets due just enough to save money, they can always find a way to save money, and then add some marginal player, that is just enough to keep the hopium alive for fans to think the Rockets are actually contenders for the title this year. There is so much unused trash on this roster, if they were serious the Rockets would be cleaning house this trade deadline, that means tucker, house, chandler, Harty, rivers, McLemore, etc.... - only 5 or 6 guys will play in the playoffs anyway, you might as well get five players who are good enough to play 40 minutes a game in the playoffs given MDA. But this will never happen, the rockets will do some bs minor move that says "look we got a replacement center for Capela" , some washed up buyout players like Markieff Morris types, and sell the fans the idea that they believe they have enough to compete for a championship this year. You have to do your preparation way in advance, by scouting players well, and building a team around Harden through the draft. Daryl Morey has wasted James Harden's best years through his transactional style of team building. There are no cheap fixes to team building, the best way to build a solid roster with quality depth is through hard work in scouting, drafting well and then good player development - all of which Daryl Morey has severely dropped the ball on during his tenure with the Houston Rockets. Sure, the Rockets will win a bunch of games this year, give the fans hope that they have a chance in the playoffs, and then the gimmick team building philosophy is exposed against the real contenders in the playoffs. But the real problem is that Daryl Morey has mortgaged the entire Houston Rockets franchise for this "incomplete and poorly built team". There is no future, you have traded away every single first round pick, with no developmental players on your roster, what is your plan in two years? Daryl Morey is incompetent as a GM.
When just a little bit of knowledge is dangerous. First of all Robert Covington isn't a marginal player. Second of all the decision to not build through the draft was made by prior ownership. Third Markieff Morris would be a big get. He isn't washed up, and is having a very good season and is an excellent fit for the Rockets. Fourth, the trading away of draft picks was at the request of ownership. Perhaps you and @what should start a special thread where you two debate your current opinions.
You don't like Bagwell and you trash Daryl Morey. I'm convinced this guy isn't a Houston sports fan at all. Are you from Dallas?
You couldn't wait 3 hours to do this? You're gonna look reeeeal dumb if something happens soon. Bonus points for boldness though.
TLDR Version of post: Rockets bad, Morey bad, I'm smart than u I know best k? Come on dude, you made pretty much the same thread a few days back.
