The Rockets could be better but those egos have to be checked in favor of good offense which means getting to the basket create motion for an in rhythm open three oppose to tag you are it a grenade is in my lap shot threes. Making a simple pass oppose to a lazy behind the back pass out of a double team, would crank our offense into high gear

Actually, if you look at the replies in this thread, the major response is some form of "okay."

You have to look at many offensive stats and how they effect the game, per usual every novice looks at a couple of offensive stats, and yep... best offense in the league.

The phoenix Suns offense dictated games on both sides of the ball via pace, consistency, pressure and sets - you need to dig deeper to understand offensive impact than just the stats you are quoting, to deny that Phoenix dominated games via their offense (and its impact on the game) to build separation and point differentials is just being argumentative at best, and pigheaded at worst. You honestly think the Phoenix Suns had the 17th best offense in the NBA? If you were being honest with yourself, you don't even believe this statistic correlation regarding offensive greatness or lack thereof in terms of the Phoenix Suns offense you just quoted to me in your post.

I find it hilarious that people want Harden to become Klay Thompson
Klay who has NEVER been the #1 Option on any team
Klay who has like 80% of his points off other people feeding

Who is the #1 option that will free up Harden?
    Who will be feeding Harden

Harden goes into motion . . . the #1 priority of every defense will be to make sure he never touches the ball again
They won't care if they have to double him off the ball . .. deny him the ball

    So what happens then
BEST: Westie can try to get to the basket - maybe a little more congested with Harden running around
Second BEST: Ego try to get to the basket - see above
    ---------------------------
    A bit frightening
BMAC or House with the ball trying to create
    ---------------------------
    OUT RIGHT FRIGHTENING
PJ or Capela or Thabo on the dribble . .. . .

Re-reading your post, I can now see that you were talking about D'antonis suns from 15 years ago, which wasn't clear. Didn't realize that's what you were talking about.

Everyone is in motion with a motion offense, a whole lot easier for cuts to the basket by all players - a motion offense makes all players better, especially role players, and leads to a lot of easy layups by role players. This is a whole lot harder to guard, than Harden just standing at the three point line while everyone just watches him dribble the ball, and packs the paint, and jack up heavily contested threes. The defensive has figured out how to guard this gimmicky offense, and now Harden's threes are heavily contested versus last year.

Not to mention that the defense of the opponents actually gets to rest on defense, and expend very little effort guarding the rockets, because the rockets are all just stationary, and they know where to find them - even the rockets' couple of plays are so predictable - mix it up guys.

Movement causes chaos, defensive confusion, mix-ups, etc. and is much harder to guard all things being equal than what the rockets are currently doing on offense. MDA recognizes this - James Harden is just unteachable right now!

He has turned into a characterization of a basketball stat chaser player - RW and JH have basically morphed into the same player that Rocket's fans chastised Westbrook for with the Thunder. James Harden was literally trying to get that last assist to get his 40 point triple double on Sunday, I bet that was more important to him than the win - he knows this team ain't winning anything this year!

And ironically, it was RW who denied Harden the triple double - tells you all you need to know about team chemistry and petty jealously revolving around this team makeup right now.

    I'd bet you are wrong.
Chemisty is fine . . . .you don't get to b**** about Harden going for a triple double
then b**** that chemistry is off because RW denied him the Triple double
That is talking out of both sides of your neck

Defenses get to rest? So we tired out our own guys to try and tire them out
Motion offense depends on two things - Ball handlers and good passes

    Remove Harden and West
-- who are the three best ball handlers - who are the three best passers. . . and who are likely to be out on the court at the same time

House/BMac/PJ/Clint are not great passers by a mile . . .and marginal ball handlers
That leaves EGO and Rivers - which probably won't be both on the court with Harden and Westie

Not true. If Morey can move Capela for a package along the lines of Robert Covington or Marcus Smart and Nerlens Noel or Richaun Holmes, they have a chance to win the Western Conference.

OP - it doesn't matter if you are spouting truth, when it is bad news, people here are not going to like it.....

Many are the spoon full of sugar types......but you are not wrong on many levels - which is why we are trading Capela.....even though the likelyhood of that changing things is low.

I personally think the Harden era is over.
