wtf are you joking? I checked 5 hours ago and it was 81 deaths. In a span of a few hours there were 25 deaths? I said that I expected the criticals to die, but this rate is way too fast.
Don't be surprised. Actually,in China,public still know very little detail about the 2003 SARS disease. It's not until last December I hear that SARS survivors have very serious sequelae,steroid-induced osteonecrosis of femoral head,and lung fibrosis.
Spent the weekend stocking up. Feel good about the family being able to hunker down and self-quarantine for 4-6 weeks if needed. Food, dog food, water, first aid, meds. Already had plenty of books and games. Already had a decent supply of masks because we sometimes get smoked out from wildfires. If nothing happens, we'll eventually use what we have anyway. Don't panic, but don't take this lightly. I have lots of contacts with emergency management folks throughout the country and some internationally. Everyone's anxious about this one. Make a plan for your family and loved ones. Prepare. Think about social distancing. yeah I know that China tried to suppress the news about SARS. If it wasn't for an Italian doctor (RIP) and a retired chinese army medic who whistleblowed who knows what would have happened. Now we have an increase of 50% in total cases, an increase of 30% in deaths and 50% in critical cases in a single day. Preposterous that this supposedly happened in a few hours.
I think the one positive we have seen so far is that the mortality rate seems to be MUCH lower outside of Wuhan so far.

There is something wrong with this data. State media revealed that the critical cases as of now are 900+. Also yesterday only in Wuhan the critical cases were 400+. This tracker says they are only 120+.
Not wanting to sound morbid, but it killed the elderly who weren't going to live much longer.......would want to know how many young to middle aged.
There are many middle aged people among the dead. Also many 40-60 year olds in critical condition. Many of the criticals are family members, husband wife, aunt. At least this is from yesterday, today with the 25 new deaths I don't know if they are included in the dead too. You can read mandarin right?
