There was banging heard for Reddick and Springer in 2017.

Honestly don't think they were able to steal signs that much in 2019 if they were still trying. People already knew from the gossip in the league and were protecting it more.

That guy paid Chris Hansen $50 to say that through Cameo. Good stuff. Surprised Chris Hansen agreed.

"Haven't said it or meant it."

It was said earlier in this thread, but bears repeating: Why apologize when these players will say it wasn't meant?

Total Catch-22. God forbid anything less than holy comes out about some of these players or teams because this is the BS high horse they ride on.

Im so surprised that the playoffs have been too big for Clayton Kershaw. What a beta.

There are screenshots floating around the web, but the three real tweets have all since been deleted

Exactly right. There's nothing any of these guys can say that will placate anyone. Anything they say will be twisted to the negative and back to the narrative. If one of them sincerely apologized, the immediate reaction would be to go badger the rest of their teammates for apologies. When saying anything is bad for you, silence is the best answer.

The Fiers stuff doesn't exactly surprise me because I'm friends with an ex of his - young Latina. I wonder if the timelines match. But I can't say anything bad for someone just because they like young Latinas (unless underage, which this person wasn't at that time).

This thread is fascinating. Really good stuff. Looks like Altuve and Reddick used it the least, while Bregman, Marwin, Yuli, Correa, Beltran and Springer used it the most (still not even that often at just around 16-18% of the time).

I went to that site. At a casual glance, the dudes with the highest percentage kinda sucked.

That stat is misleading, because the bangs are associated with breaking balls, which are thrown more to crummy hitters. Bad part is that it doesn’t exonerate Altuve even tho he got very few bangs. The real stat he needs to provide is % of breaking balls each player was thrown that had bangs. To do that you’d have to take his work and analyze it against the pitch type.

Was thinking the same thing because no bang means fastball. So it’s impossible to tell how often players were using it just from this - would need to record # of breaking balls with no bang as well.

Majority of the core players were around 50% fastballs
