not nearly as much as bad defense and terrible shooting

How many games have u thought to yourself “damn, we would’ve won if not for our turnovers?” Now how many times have u said we would’ve won if we could’ve got some stops or stopped tossing up bricks?

Yep the overall package, turnovers wear on your nerves, bad shooting and less confidence happen.

Ask the scorer but he fired it in from 2 feet, not an easy catch.

why focus on 1 when there are like 10 others?
And I am talking about the average here, not just one game.

Rockets 12th in turnovers, so above average.

Statistically speaking, defensive rebounding is where we can see the most headway for improvements. Defenders in general, would help tremendously.

If you want to focus on offense, 3 pt % is 21st in the league. With the volume we take, this is killing us, even though we have a pretty potent offense.

Really all this team needs is two elite 3 and D role players to fill in the gaps. But alas, Tilman is cheap and made us blow all our picks on the silly Westbrook trade, so now we are stuck. Man would I kill for days past when we had Battier / Ariza on the wings. What a potent defensive combo.

Or not re-signing D-Mo at any of about a half dozen times.

Our TOs/possession is a better indicator because it factors in pace (not all teams have the same number of possessions per game), and we rank 14th there, so right about in the middle of the league. However, our TOs/possession this year are 14.0%, only slightly more than last year when we had 13.4% with "ball protector" CP3 as Harden's running mate.

Bottom line: TOs are bad and we should make every attempt to limit them. But we're not that much worse that last year.

To me, this is just OP looking for a way to denigrate Westbrook now that he's playing much smarter and has learned to take the good shots that the system gives him and lay off the bad ones.

TOV% is a possession based metric.

As many have said our shooting for a 3 point shooting team is marginally ass, our defensive capabilities based on the roster are ass, and our lack of length and depth is killing us, face it we aren’t going anywhere in the playoffs except home quickly, and that’s assuming we even make it in at this point which I’m not convinced we ultimately will (if we do we are a bottom half seed which likely means one and done) ... it was fun hoping, but early on there were a lot of bad signs and they were largely glaringly bad for the most part ...
