I'm digging but am coming up empty. Really interested in this case because why would a multimillionaire like Parsons hire a lawyer to sue the driver at fault, who's probably worth considerably less than their client? I mean unless Jeff Bezos or another billionaire was behind the wheel that caused the accident this seems a bit too much. I hope Parsons don't have injuries that will impact his life from here on out but some of this stuff is fishy.
Do you think the only reason Parsons hired one of the top plaintiff law firms in the country was to sue a DUI driver? I think he's planning on suing the Hawks, or to explore it, at least.

I don't think it's the ONLY reason but, as it stands from a media reporting POV, it appears he got a lawyer because of this DUI driver and the accident. Why would he sue the Hawks?

One reason would be to interpret his Player Contract for Base Compensation protection in the event of injury, and possibly to interpret the Hawks insurance policy. In the case of terminating a contract, injury compensation (guarantees) under the CBA falls into two categories: Basketball related, and non basketball related. Hawks can provide both, and have insurance to provide both. Both can be convered, depends upon agreements specific to the contract. Also, is "while headed home from practice" a gray area regarding the two categories?
Makes sense....would the assumption be that the Hawks might have probable cause to void the remaining part of his contract due to this accident that could, based on his lawyers' verbiage, career ending? Because it didn't sound like the Hawks are too worried about the injuries Parsons sustained.
I edited my post. The Injury protection would only be relevant if/when the Hawks terminate the contract. Until then, obviously Hawks are paying his full salary.

If I recall correctly Parsons posted a emoji on Twitter about it. Did he do something else? Even if he did, it's a car accident man, some thing's are bigger than basketball.
