http://www.mexicosdeli.com/ I'm not quite sure about what's around it, but it is on Dairy Ashford as soon as you turn into the street from Westheimer. The site has their address. Best tacos I've had in Houston bar none.
According to Houston Press it's Karanchos in Channelview. I've been there and it's pretty good. http://www.houstonpress.com/bestof/2012/section/food-and-drinks-28916/
Hmm, I shall have to try this place out. It's near where I work. Tired of Taco Bell, Taco Cabana, and just about every other fast food place in the area.
Colorado resident here, but I know Torchy's is all about Texas. I just went today and found out they got rid of the Alabama Shake (catfish) and Mr. Pink (seared ahi tuna). Not happy!! Can you guys riot the Torchy's Tacos in Houston and make them bring it back everywhere please? Thanks!
Torchy's in Colorado would probably be your best bet for tacos in Colorado. Talk to the owners/managers, they might hook you up. Torchy's is horrible, just horrible, if you're in Texas.
I agree, the place is flat out horrible, I want to like it, I just moved by the one in Vinatge Park and its horrible. SMH over the love people have for this place
All the midwestern transplants in CO think its the greatest thing on the planet. All the locations are always packed. They've never heard of queso before. As a texan in Co, no thanks
re: Colorado From my seats, "gourmet" taco/marg joints is a popular trend in Denver and Boulder ... over past 10yrs?? (and maybe even accelerating??) There are quality choices, if you like specialty tacos with fancy margs and big selections of tequila. In two blocks of West End Boulder alone, there are 5 places, and that doesn't even count The Rio, the popular mexican restaurant, nor a Chipotle on the block. The saturation is becoming a joke. Sobo area of Denver is similar.
