I think you are almost right wen you say this, but there were a few (very few) times during Capaldi where they got it right and it worked IMO as well as back during the Tennant days. The episodes that come to mind is the one where he's in some kind of loop punching through a wall time and time again till he breaks it, that was at least a decent episode IMO and the episode where he sees River Song for the last time before her death was a good episode IMO. The rest has been different levels of garbage though so the spirit of what you said rings true.

I haven't watched the new episodes yes with the Dottoressa, I was waiting till more of them came out so I could watch a several of them at once if I felt like it, but I've heard very bad things thus far.

There has been rumbling that the new showrunner and Whitaker are leaving after this season. Perhaps too much BBC story interference? Would make sense, considering the horrid episodes they've made so far.

This is normal for the show, though:

    http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/doctor...ratings-down-success-decline-jodie-whittaker/

It's doing about as well as previous seasons. This is sort of like the NFL drop in ratings - without context, people freak out about how it's alienating Republicans or whatever. But when put in context (Nascar and other sports have seen bigger drops), we see that it's more about people having more viewing options and TV ratings down in general.

Same thing here - the show's ratings are fine when looked at compared to previous seasons. All "new doctors" have had substantial drops after their initial introduction. That said, they note that female viewership is up (which means male viewership would be down) - so it may just be that the audience is changing, so previous fans don't like it as much but it's picking up new fans.

    Intriguing. Very much.
I think the story telling has changed
So . . .new fans will feel this is the prototype Doctor all others are compared too . . . .
(For me it is the 4th) . . . .So they probably won't be fans that enjoy the previous incarnations
In order to keep the fans .. . the story telling stays like this . . .. .
.the old fans may not come back because of the change in story telling going forward.

That'll still be a "No" for me. I hear that the Master is now Middle Eastern. Meh...

    You are one of “them”.
Well, since Time Lords re-generate...Why would they be limited to white males? The previous Master was a woman.

It amazes me how white males don’t understand that entertainment changed to reflect the real world and not the all white world reflected in TV and movies for Decades because of racism and sexism in the United States.

Including the scene where the UK secret service guy was left to guess, not knowing the doctor was a woman, reminded me of the Office/tallahassee, when Nellie told ryan to ask aloud "So who's leading this thing anyway? I can't wait to meet him."

    "Him you say?"

I really don't care that the Doctor is a woman.

But I don't think she is very good, and the writing from the few episodes I watched was worse than ever. After the initial reveal of the new doctor, which it always worth watching, the episodes were boring as hell. I made it up to the episode with the pregnant man and I couldn't even finish it.

You can be progressive, or stick to tradition, whatever. Boring is always unacceptable, and the show has been boring for a few years now, at least to me. The show failed the DVR test very early (how quickly do I watch once it's recorded) if episodes are piling up, the show usually gets the axe from me.

I also hate having multiple companions, there should only be one.
