Had a great game. He or JJ didnt last year. I understand the argument no reason to not hold on for one season.

Its gonna be interesting to see if Seattle gives him top dollars. I don't know Seattle's cap situation. Clowney is a good guy. It isn't work ethic. Its is it enough to be one of the highest paid in terms of what he does well.

Up front getting to the quarterback is what pays

Definitely a good game by Clowney. Not discounting it but Philly’s offense has who playing exactly? Outside of the two TE they’re decimated. No Brooks. No Lane. Retired now playing McCown.

Yes, having him for this season would have been nice. Everyone around here values having players on rookie contracts so that’s also a win with having Martin and Conley for the next few years on the cheap.

I think both teams are happy with the trade as of today. We couldn’t sign Clowney long term while extending Deshaun and also protecting him with a competent o-line.

I will be happy when Clutchfans will stop doing this. The Texans sold low on Clowney. It's done. We have moved on. Posting anything Conley or Martin does is saying "at least they got something". And they did. They got something.

Oh BTW in case you were wondering

Let's compare Clowney and Martin's season stats.

The sacks and QB hits are close, despite Martin playing half the games. Martin has more sacks in his last four games than Clowney had all year.

    JPP
    Benson Mayowa
    Mario Addison
    Carlos Dunlap
    Bruce Irvin
    Carl Nassib
    Taco Charlton
    Sam Ebukam
    And about a 100 guys

They must all be better than Clowney and Martin because they had more sacks.

None of those guys are worth $100 million, neither is Clowney.

Yeah. Texans are winning with their big horses. Watson, Watt, Hopkins, Tunsil.... That is where the big money is being invested and prioritized. I liked Clowney, but with the salary cap, you can’t pay them all.

Dude has already said he wasn't looking for the big payday line everyone her is assuming. He is playing on a "one year deal" and would have done the same here. The Texans are currently playing about half his salary for this year even though he didnt play a down for them

I intentionally left the big money guys out.

And stop with this made up $100 million number. They could have had him for $7 mil more this year

Texans didn't want him. Move on. It has worked out for the Texans and Clowney (although, he is not getting the big money he thinks he is...that's where the $100 million comes in).

Bullshit. He wants the Big Money....that's why he was traded. Texans were not paying him that money. The reason he is playing on "a One year deal" is that the Seahawks agreed not to Franchise him. The Texans would never make that promise.

Clowney is a stud even tho his raw numbers don’t say so.

we really could have used him this year.

we went all in do imo we should have franchised him for one year. It wouldn’t have stopped ya from getting Tunsil or stills and I’m sure we could have still gotten that DB from the raiders somehow.

I’d feel much better about our chances with him right now. He’s always shown up in the playoffs and today was no different he’s a real game changer regardless of the raw stats.

LOL You're just making stuff up. When did the Seahawks agree not to franchise him?

I choose to believe the words of the man himself not some random poster who is full of himself. No offense :)

All truth here. The Texans didnt want him. That is the only explanation that makes sense.
