Looking at my team decade posters and was wondering who Clutchfans thought was the decade team. My picks are what I believe are the best picks SG Harden Pg Beverly SF Ariza SG Gordon C Capela Only one that I believe can be substituted is Bev with Paul but Bev played one more season and think that the fans took to him way more than the accomplishments of Paul. Love Paul though.
There is not one PF this last decade that I would put over Ariza. I know Ariza was a SF but only Tucker was close but would have Ariza over Tucker in a instant.
I would put Scola over him. Sure, he only played two seasons this decade, but he was way better in my view.
Also I cant put Ariza on any list when he goes 0-12 (0-9 from 3 pt range) in his final game with us and the biggest of our season, game 7 of the WCF. Almost all those shots were uncontested. If he goes 3 or 4-12, we probably win that game.
Harden fill out your starting 5 and bench from: Paul Lowry Bev Westbrook Martin Gordon Ariza Parsons PJ Scola Capela Howard
Rockets don't use conventional positions, why should you? Perimeter/wing: Harden, Paul, Lowry, Martin, Gordon, Beverley, Ariza, Parsons Big: Capela, Howard, Scola
Serious Starting 5: PG: Chris Paul SG: James Harden SF: Chandler Parsons (pre-douche years) PF: Luis Scola C: Dwight Howard Coach: Adelman You catch all these players in their prime at the same time, and that roster is pretty dominant. Lots of reasons to not include Parsons & Dwight, but from a talent perspective... when they were good, they were a good as anything we've had this last decade in their roles. And I couldn't just leave Scola off. Love that guy way too much although it's probably the smart basketball move to put Ariza at the 4, and have 4 guys who switch on D.
