Perhaps he shouldn't have b****ed and moaned about Butler being a meanie. They were at least building to competitiveness at one point and they shipped out the primary cause of their growth.

It must be horrid being a small market team. Constantly hoping to win the lottery, only to have the lottery pick underachieve and whine his way to a bigger market after giving a less than stellar effort for most of his developmental time.

Yeah, we still sleeping on your trash ass and now you're unhappy. :D

But Karl-Anthony Towns is warning you not to sleep on his Minnesota Timberwolves.

“Everyone always sleeps on people in Minnesota because they don’t hear our name a lot,” Towns, who was named a 2019 NBA Western Conference All-Star, told The Undefeated. “That’s fine. That’s cool. We are going to come from the underground and just find ourselves in the playoffs if we continue to do what we’re doing. …

“It’s fine. Keep sleeping on us.”

How do the Wolves become a problem in the West?

We have to play our game of basketball. It doesn’t matter about being anyone. We have to play to our standards. We have to play the way we play. We don’t have time to waste looking at other people and worrying about being the second version of this team and that team. We got to worry about being the first version of us and playing our style of basketball.

And if people beat us playing our style of basketball, you salute them and move on to the next team. If we play the way we know how to play the way, especially with what I have seen in training camp and when we’re at our best, there are not a lot of teams that have a chance to beat us.

How good can the Wolves be?

We can be as good as we want to be, as long as we stay cohesive, we stay unified and continue to play the game we play on a nightly basis. … It’s easy to win one game. It’s hard to win most of the games in an 82-game season. Obviously, if we are blessed with health and play basketball the way we know we can play basketball, we will be just fine.

KAT's quickly following AD's path of getting out and acknowledging he's not that #1 guy. what a shame.

Karl Anthony-Towns is a very talented basketball player.

If your team is counting on Karl Anthony-Towns to lead them..... well you aren't going to win a lot of games.

He should be an elite defender - he isn't.

He is very soft. When Clint Capela pushes you around like a rag doll, you have problems.

He will gladly keep shooting 3's though.... he is good at that and it doesn't require any real effort.

Who cares? He’s signed for like 5 more years. The NBA is in a very bad place if guys start demanding out mere moments after signing a long term deal.

“Player Empowerment” has jumped the shark

They mismanaged their assets big time. I truly believe that they could've at least been a playoff team had they kept LaVine.

That's very nice of you. It is more correct to say, "When Clint Capela uses you for a c** rag, you have problems."

My Minnesota-born coworker even acknowledges how Capela drank KAT's milkshake.

That no defense playing chucker wasn't gonna help them win s**t. He's a walking personification of good scorer on a bad team.

They made the right trade by compiling mediocre players for an actual impact talent. Had Towns and Wiggins actually been interested in playing winning basketball instead of being soft whiny b**ches they would be one of the best teams in the west right now.

At least Towns actually tries a little on defense now (still charmin soft, but that's actually in improvement), the only major mistake they made was locking themselves into professional C student Wiggins.

We are already past jumping the shark. Players can do whatever the hell they want. Players now are forcing themselves out with multiple years on their deal or not making any promises to the team they are traded to.

This league has a huge sucking sound, which is star players from middle of the road and worse franchises going to 3-4 teams.

It is just a matter of time until Giannis and KAT leave.

Suns and Kings make sense as trade partners for KAT. Both have salaries to match , picks and a young core that KAT can be integrated into.

Yes, until he b****es and complains like Anthony Davis and forces a trade to the team of his choosing, which I would guess is the Warriors.

I’m not sure how the warriors can match salaries. They would have to send Klay, Steph or a package centered around Green. Not sure they are willing to do that just to pair KAT and DLo.

They have basically 4 players making around 30/35M per season under contract, they can easily match by moving one between Russell and Draymond (i don't see how they trade the splash bros).

Hopefully the Wolves aren't going to move Towns for at least a couple of years since he just signed an extension, and eventually other teams might offer more, but i don't really think we should underestimate the Warriors here, they have some good players/salaries to trade, and if they get the no.1 pick in the draft we better be ready to see them do a big trade, also cause i don't think Curry and D-Lo isn't going to be good for them.
