This year our family decided to forego gifts and instead spend our time helping others in need through donations and service efforts.
If you want nice ones and want to spend the money, look around, there's a few hundred custom boot makers in Texas. Not sure about Chicago. eta: https://www.texasmonthly.com/the-culture/25-top-custom-bootmakers/ https://www.cowboysindians.com/2019/06/the-best-bootmakers-in-texas/ https://www.texasmonthly.com/the-power-of-boots/
I only got one present. So far, anyway. My ex-gf (and still best friend, it seems) spent about 5 hours with me yesterday crafting a picture of my latest D&D character in an online character creator she's quite good at using. It came out quite excellent between her skill and my fussy input. She got a nice meal with my family and a cool DC banner from the Elder Scrolls Online, which we both play, from me. I'm totally fine with not getting much. It was a nice, low-stress Christmas, which is probably the best gift I could have gotten since I was out of town the whole week before on a job. Went to nice Christmas Eve and, for the first time in my life, Christmas Day services at my church, and those were a real pleasure.
Why? That all sounds Whiter than Christmas. Can't say I care for the apple Crown personally, regular will do.
What do consider "Crapple"? Or, I guess...what is it that "Asians won't drink?" You and me both. Never had one before.
I call crown royal apple “Crapple” for short. Not bad just not my thing. Also not my thing but I know Asians loveeee that Hennessy.
Aaaahhhh....gotcha, I'll have to remember to call it that, stuff's no good. Never really cared for Cognac either, and I've had glasses of the best, just not my thing.
It’s an Arcade1up. You can get them for $400-500. The cabinet isn’t as big as the original -about five feet as pictured, but the controller is and it plays perfectly. It was the only thing I wanted for Xmas and my wife obliged.
Surprised she got me crown apple. I drank it a few years ago but havent bought a bottle in for quite some time. She bought me weller for thanksgiving which was my first bottle of it. I did enjoy it.
I got sets of workout clothes from my fiancee. Not subtle, AT ALL I got her a set of mikimoto earrings and airpod pros. There's an imbalance in the force.
Thank you. That sounds like a good idea to me. In Chicago mostly there are shoemakers but the boots are not really up my alley. They tend to be more like dress shoes.
Just make sure you tuck your jeans into your boots - because that way everybody can see the full boot.
