As far as new country goes, most of it sucks just like most new music period. But Chris Stapleton goes against that trend, genre crossing and era crossing.

I hate the new "pop" country music and much prefer old school traditional country music. Which is why I only listen to Florida Georgia Line.

There's never been a more "Texan" person born and raised in Pennsylvania than Ray Benson.

    David Allen Coe is incredible.

Jolene is one of the 10 best country songs of all time.

Every country song thrives to be like Fancy.

    Charlie MFER Pride.....

    Brilliant song by Glen Campbell....

Kacey Musgraves is probably the best song writer in all of music right now.

Really good choice, unfortunately like everything Johnny Cash, it has been shoved down out throats to the point it has lost luster to me.

So many good choices to pick from, but I'll go with some 80's classics that have always resonated with me:

I’ve listened to his country stuff but I can’t get over him singing with a country twang. Like, where did that come from?? I do like this one you posted tho as it sounds more like his stained voice.

Her first 2 albums were GREAT but her last album went away from her country roots, it has more of an electronic pop sound. Me and the GF were disappointed
