Again, what has Shanahan done? You sound like he made the Super Bowl. Hasn’t played 1 playoff game yet.
If there's a second part that says the Texans will hire a legit GM that welcomes analytics and innovation, as well as a forward-thinking coach, my answer would be yes. But since firing BOB just means some random retread coach will get hired instead then no, I wouldn't risk a 5% chance to go to the Super Bowl just to see him get fired. But he should be fired.
Screw the playoffs. Bill, "Offensive Specialist", O'Brien has never had the Texans Top 10 rated in offense ever in SIX seasons. Six years. Think about that. Top Ten is being generous anyway as Top Five should be the standard of guru. Bill has mostly ridden the coattails of weak divisions and RAC's defense for his success. Leadership also appears an issue. The inconsistency, players wearing costumes to games, players celebrating 1st downs while down 30 points, and players laughing on the sidelines while down 30. His dismissal is long overdue.
What's the point of making the playoffs to have an early exit? Everyone knows BOB's flaws will cripple us in big moments.
Why can't we wait til the season's over and we're bounced out in the wildcard or 1st round... again? This thread is ****ing stupid and so is the OP. Dude keeps harping on this topic over and over. It's not just BOB's fault though, it starts from the top. We have a lot of talent, but we don't have the right coaches leading them.
Yeah, that really irks me. It's immature and cocky. It's ridiculous to celebrate a play when you are getting beat down. It's the look at me, watch me pose for a selfie generation I guess. As for the laughing and joking on the sideline, well maybe all the money they make changes things. In college sports it seems like you see more heart, passion and tears, and less joking around when getting beat.
I'm not harping on anything. Don't care what happens to B'OB one way or the other. I do want people to let the season play out.......then evaluate the season.
Don't care my ass. this BoB defender created a thread telling BoB critics to eat crow after his hero did well the first few games of the season. Now he wants to let the season play out. Not gonna vote, because it's stupid asking hypothetical O’Brien being fired is more important than winning the division and making the playoffs? And you won’t root for them in the playoffs....because it means O’Brien stays...? BoB getting fired is way more important than any minor achievements we will ever achieve with him leading us.
A @Mr.Scarface vanity thread. Bob is a mediocre coach given an extraordinarily long leash. He can go any time now as far as I'm concerned.
I voted no, but now that I think about it, BoB needs to go for the long term success of this team. We are going nowhere but first round losses with him at the helm. He is supposed to be an offensive genius, but is less than mediocre. I really don't think he is good at game planning. His lack of success on first possessions is an indication. The Texans will have one good game of play calling followed by two bad ones. The things that work he seems to forget about for long periods of time. Look at how the Ravens were able to completely change their offense in one year to cater to the talent of their QB. The Texans have only shown flashes of building around a generational talent. Everyone can see what Watson is capable of doing, but they go back to the vanilla sit in the pocket plays over and over for games at a time. Its extremely frustrating to watch.
Your poll is loaded and horribly constructed as the options of wanting OBrien to be fired and wanting the team to succeed are mutually inclusive. Its like you are a bratty 9 year old: Option A: My parents love me and get me a GI Joe for Christmas. Option B: My parents hate me and dont get me a GI Joe for Christmas.
