Coworker: I don't know about Billie Eilish. Little too dark for me, you know? B-Bob: Mmm-hmm. B-Bob: You know, you might like something a little more authentic. I always go to Chelsea Wolfe when I need a pallet cleansing. Coworker: Never heard of her! Thanks! B-Bob: (Heh)
This thread always trips me out on how different my music taste is from others. For those who like RnB and haven't heard of Baby Rose yet.
Can't get enough of this girl. She plays all her own instruments, writes her own songs and records them herself. And she's never auditioned for The Voice........ FYI, this is recorded live using loops with no post-production, etc. (wait for the drum solo at the end)
One of my all time favorites. I've been listening to a lot of 70's soul over the last couple of days, thanks to the 90's soul thread.
This new Duster album is very good. Long forgotten 90s rock band FTW. Just stick those warm 90s guitar tones in my veins.
The score of The Martian, over and over. The film is likely as close to Mars as I’ll ever get, and the score evokes the planet’s beautiful desolation. That, and my Labradoodle likes it.
Phish. Lots and lots of phish. And a healthy dose of the nutcracker suite. You know, cuz of the holidays.
oh ya, also revisiting Dan Carlin's series on World War I in his Hardcore History podcast in anticipation of 1917 being released next week. to say that the war was tragic, pointless and grotesque damn near beyond comprehension would not be an exaggeration. the podcast may be 20+ hours over 6 episodes but it is absolutely jaw-dropping.
Got the new Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark Singles compilation. They're a group I've always wanted to look deeper into since "If You Leave" is one of my favorite songs of all time. So far, it's all pretty great. At least the early stuff that I've heard so far.
I was actually referring to all the stupid sound effects, but yeah, I agree. Every time I go to the front page of the Hangout and see the Watchmen thread, I start humming this song to myself:
