I watched the first and 2nd qtr again. We could have rolled with any style of offense and the self inflicted, shoot yourself in the groin, set backs would have still been present. We tried 2 styles, Pro style with short passes. But when you're dinking and dunking you can't flag yourself from 3rd and manageable to 3rd and long. Denver gets the ball and scores, no biggie. Joseph thought he had a good play and was going to take it to the house. Watson shrugs it off, goes empty and is still delivering the ball on point. Oh wow, Coutee what a nice catch!!! Ooooops. Fumble. K Jax returns it 70 yards. Watson was starting to heat up. Now you find yourself down 14-0 and their defense can pin back their ears and go all out. .By the second quarter, Broncos D, knew what was coming and where it was coming from...that's not what she said. The lack of focus is inexcusable. Win the next 3 and I'll forget it about it. How do you fix Tunsil's penalty woes. Joked in week 1 if he'd have more than Davenport. Do you make him practice with some head phones on full blast. I've never seen anything like it. It's a shame because he is one of the best pass blockers but those penalties kill drives.
I think they thought the "Edelman" defense where they roll coverage to Sutton would be enough to flummox Lock. Unfortunately, with that on tape, the Broncos went to a heavy TE/RB pass game plan and the Texans were down 21-0 after 15 offensive snaps for the Broncos (thanks, Keke). Harris and Stoerner were gushing over Lock all week. The Texans got burned, big time by the kid. Apparently, Lock is also real tight with the Mannings and got some help from Peyton on how to prepare for his first road start as well.
I thought that it should be very easy win for the Texans after you have beaten the Pats, but it turned out to be easy for the Denver Broncos. What a world!
