My guess... Long lost son is a hustle. Fake prince and real daughter fall in love. Akeem learns to accept everyone and every way. Princess marries fake son. Akeem then surprises all by announcing her as the first female heir to the throne of Zamunda. The end.

One of my favorite movies. Hopefully he is prince Hakeem by now and it is time to get crowned back to back.

Because he's done such good work lately?

I love Eddie Murphy. So many movies that are a part of my life. RAW was the greatest thing ever. But what has he done in 20 years? Shrek might be his best work since...Boomerang? Even seeing that there's going to be a Beverly Hills Cop 4. What the hell will that be? Rescuing Taggert and Rosewood from the retirement home?

I thought I Spy was underrated. Looking it up, I also thought it was more recent than 2002...

I used to be able to recite that entire set from memory. One of the greatest stand up sets of all time.

IMO, Delirious and Comedian were better. I recall memorizing the entire Ice Cream sketch and performing it verbatim in my 7th grade classroom.

Loved Delirious, too. I wore out the cassette tape. If I see a dead bird in my yard, my kids think I'm trying to torture them instead of just reciting that instantly as if there were no other choice.

"Dead bird...gonna put it on you"

Yeah, the story is kind of the easiest way to make this and probably many would hope wouldn't happen. It's just so cliche. Why not come up with something smarter and actually crazy, just a funny story in itself. For example:

Arsenio is still the servant, but has been slacking for years, pulling pranks and doing wacky things which has lead to his firing. Years later, Eddie is called as king of Zamunda to attend this diplomatic / UN type of thing in NY where he finds out Arsenio is actually king of another nation that he either invented or shrewdly inherited - secretly using Akeem's status and his ICT skills to get into certain databanks, bribing people etc. - and they need to vote on him joining a council or whatever. Akeem has a soft spot for his friend, but does not feel comfortable with this fraudulent behaviour, but Arsenio has a weapon to blackmail Akeem: a secret that could ruin his status and marriage. What could it be? How will this end?

The secret could be anything from him being adopted, illegitimate, so no access to father's inheritance money who just passed away or Zamunda was never really a country so the money has no value. This would be part of the other side of the story, which involves of course with Eddie's in-laws. He would be forced to go back to Queens and to try to help out McDowell's since he's going bankrupt. In the end Eddie is forced to choose between saving his father-in-law's business, which would force Eddie to go along with Arsenio staying a king - or own up to the lies, risk losing everything, but also potentially rekindling with Arsenio as he only did all of this to be treated with respect or some other silly reason. Maybe just to be friends again as he already found it hard to serve, but knowing Eddie was not a real king and with the attitude, he just wanted to force him to lose his status and be normal again.
