If they are flying free as lap infants, don’t forget the birth certificate. My toddler is turning two during our holiday trip to Texas. She is flying free on the way there but we have to buy her a return seat. They always ask for proof of baby’s age and identity.
My son has flown a number of times with all five of his kids while they have been under two. Not once have they been asked for a birth certificate. That being said, better safe than sorry. ETA - airline dependant. They have always flown Delta and they do not require it.
And I’ve seen families turned away for their poor planning. If it’s a lap infant flying for free, the birth certificate is required.
That’s sweet, should have used Delta more often. You have to get a boarding pass for the baby with Southwest and that requires showing the birth certificate.
The only thing they couldn't do on Delta with an "infant in arms" was check in online. They had to go to a desk to check in with an agent.
