Could win a championship with either. The real problem is which supporting cast is better. Right now its Dallas.

On paper their supporting cast looks like absolute trash, they do have a championship caliber coach though.

This seems like an easy answer. We have pretty much had Harden from the age of 22-30, and saw what he did at 20-22. We already know the results, and it did not net a championship. I would rather have Luka because he may be able to net a championship on his own, this has not yet been proven. Its like having one option that is unknown vs. another option that is already confirmed a lost bet.

    We're talking a minimum 8-peat.

I imagine that Porzingis-like teammate would stand around and have the best look at the Harden isolation just like every of his teammates now or in the past. Porzingis likes playing in the post and midrange

He's got his flaws. Nelson desperately wanted to draft Giannis, and Cuban said let's pass on him. Cuban dissolved championship team who might have run it back. Also Nelson Sr., if I'm not mistaken, found Nowitzki.

However, the stuff he provides his players with is unparalleled to any other team and here I agree, he is a good owner.

If Dallas had Morey as a GM and Nelson had last Word as a scout, and with Cuban as an owner who doesn't meddle...wow.

Unforunately we've been "blessed" with Fertitta.

He was great at adapting his game with Luka around. He was "the man" in NYK, he's not anymore here. Maybe he Will assert himself more when he gets his legs fully back. Until then, he scraps for rebounds (thats why Luka doesn't have triple doubles anymore), blocks and alter shots, is a willing cutter and spot up shooter. His ego didn't get in the way of team, unlike another teammate Harden had a couple of years ago...

Eh, I'm just mad that the mavs future looks noice and we only have a few years left to capitalize on Harden's abilities.

i think Tilman would trade Westbrook and Harden for him right now. Also would give them Morey.

He had Durant for a couple seasons that he was a bench player.. Harden has the ability to make what is available on the team better.

If this is actually a real question in your head, you need to stop watching ESPN.

That's because Luka is on his rookie deal - it gets A LOT harder to manage when the Mavs start paying Luka max dollars in addition to Porzingis and they don't have as much money to spend on a supporting cast. Dallas has not been particularly savvy on the FA market and that is something they have to nail moving forward if they don't want to waste years of Luka's prime because they overpaid the Wes Matthews and Chandler Parsons of the world. Harden has proved you can nearly average a triple double and still be a perennial playoff loser if you don't have the right cast around you. Really that is exactly what the challenge has been in Houston - as good as Harden has been, surrounding him with at least one healthy star AND giving him a decent supporting cast to take advantage of his gifts is a real challenge. Otherwise, solid defense teams will send 3 guys at your star in the playoffs and leave guys like Hardaway Jr to shoot your team out of a series.
