Rockets arent real contenders, our ceiling is a top 4 seed and 2nd round exit.

I called it early last season and it will be the same if not worse this season.

Too many delusional fans that can't see past their bias but this team clearly doesn't look anything close to a championship team (and no, I'm not talking about the chemistry)

If you just look at the numbers without any context sure Harden shoots more free throws than any other player in the league. But he also has the highest usage rate and drives to the basket more than any player in the league, so he should be shooting more free throws. In fact he should be shooting way more. Last year Giannis was 3rd in league in free throw attempts only trailing Harden by 1. Did you know Harden drove 1527 times to Giannis 901. 626 more drives results in 1 more free throw a game and you think he gets preferential treatment.

The biggest difference is the bench

Ever since 'Antoni took over, we've ranked at the bottom every year

Last year we finished dead last, and this year were dead last.

This numbskull of an NBA coach refuses to develop and play young talent

    6 seed in the west,
MDA is underperformed so far, but he will be better.

Wing players are too small. We have to get bigger

It is just impossible to trust MDA against other elite coaches in the playoffs. Big weakness for Houston.

Sometimes we complicate basketball. Not that hard. Against the Clippers Ben Mac hit 4 threes, I think, and the Rockets were right there at the end. Need to get someone on the street, preferably a vet, who can hit open threes. Ben Mac will play well once every 4 games, you don't need that.

To be fair Clemons was likely to miss as our role players miss wide open shots when they are needed most. like i said before the season the problem isn't going to be wb or harden they will do what they always do. it is the role guys and mda thats keeping us from getting over the hump. Sadly stars get all the blame.

If Morey is unwilling to fire MDA after the terrible history (because he's satisfied with always almost winning and kissing Harden's a*s on Twitter) and doing a terrible job at signing the right players, maybe the FO can't be trusted either...

Their best players don't have as many 2-16 nights from 3?

Their coaches don't just let their star player run everything?

Like most pretenders, the Rockets can play good defense for stretches and perhaps sometimes against mediocre teams, but when it matters against good (offensive) teams, this team can't defend and just loses heart. The team desperately needs a stabilizing defensive presence. It's not just about getting another "3-point shooter" that'll become mediocre like many others in this system.

Part of defense is rebounding. Rockets aren't good at that either.

Rockets lack of clutch-ability has never helped, especially postseason.

MDA doesn't inspire confidence in having a coaching advantage either.

    There's a flaw gluttony.

Westbrook is making 38.5 million and is giving us about replacement level player production thus far.

    https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2020-nba-player-ratings/

His true shooting is under 50%, which is far below NBA average and yet he’s 13th in the league in shot attempts.

You can not contend with that.

Lol u don’t know that. That’s what trust and a team means. You trust your team mate to make that play and if he doesn’t you pick him up. We live another day. Another game.

All the player haters. How many so called fans bash and say so much nasty stuff against their own teammates as Rockets fans? All the "I have grown to hate" type threads make me sick. It was Dwight, then Greyhound, then Anderson, Melo, EGO, Westbrook, and the list goes on and on and on.

Man, just cheer for our team and quit criticizing and hating on our own players. Is this a fan forum or a player bashing forum? Go find another team to hate on instead of our own. Go find another hobby. Get lost.

Well, in fairness, we've been trading away our picks every year to get off of salary. So the young talent we've had, for the most part, is sub par.

***DISCLAIMER: OBVIOUSLY HARTENSTEIN IS AN EXCEPTION TO THIS RULE AS HE IS A FUTURE MVP CANDIDATE

I said likely "AND YES I DO KNOW THAT" lol We have the same problem every year. The one year we didnt have that problem Paul got injured and they didnt resign Ariza. Also guys are getting older. We just dont have enough talent around Harden its that simple.
