I'm happy to admit I was too hard on Capela early. He looked rough first few games but like MDA said, he probably has his legs now. If he keeps rebounding like this we're a force.

I have seen Harden box out the opposing center/PF on switches multiple times this year and I will say I have NEVER seen that before aside from 1 or 2 possessions per game!

What was your rebounding percentage last year compared to this season? We still featured a lot of small ball lineups to start 2019-2020, but have moved more towards actual legit backup centers playing the 5. Plus the difference between RW and CP3 on the glass is huge.

Is everyone in our starting lineup an above average rebounder for their position ?

    Russ yes
    James yes
    House ?
PJ , small but really really good rebounder
    Clint , probably above average

Chandler's toughness in practice is paying dividends early

4 straight 20 rebound games definitely above average. Even Dream never did that.

Oh is practice not important? MDA just tells the players to show up on game day and play hard yeah? The team practices and Clint goes up against Tyson, and Tyson does not take it easy on him, that's how players get better. That's how Hartenstein is getting better as well

Honorable mention to PJ, House and Thabo.

House and Thabo are low key active on the boards. I'm always surprised when Thabo snatches one in traffic. Thabo doesn't play much, but when he is out there as a 4, he is swarming.

Rebounds alone aren’t a perfect proxy for rebounding ability . The difference between 15 and 20 boards could easily be balls that fall right to you , or easy gets after missed ft attempts

Russ has been a force on the boards. He hustles to the rim when most guards
are moseying back the other way. His 10 rebounds/gm make a big difference.

He may have other offensive deficiencies, but when a guard can get you 10 RB's
on a regular basis, that's a lot of extra opportunities to score (and take away from other team)

Luck in 4 consecutive games? Not buying it. Give Clint some credit for his effort.

Not bashing Clint . Just responding to the guy the post that said Hakeem hadn’t had 4 straight 20 rebound games .

That was me, trying to put Clint's accomplishment into historical perspective.

Never said Clint was as good, nevermind better, than Dream.

Having russ on the team, Harden is a different beast, he must be the happiest player on the rockets being able to play with his childhood friend.

He definitely looks different so far especially the effort plays on defense, anyone that doesn’t see that the last 7/8 games just isn’t being honest about their agenda regarding Harden. It’s truly weird seeing how this team flipped the switch that they did following the Miami game, they just don’t look remotely like the same team they did the first few games of the season specially on defense which has been swarming and slowly has become suffocating at times ... it really feels like Russ’s relentlessness has started to wear off on James which is awesome !
