250 k of the 2.56 was originally guaranteed. Since he lasted past 10/22, 500 k was guaranteed. Weird to cut him now, but I guess it saves around 30,000 dollars (2.56 million / 82) each game now that he's not on the roster.
That sucks. He seems like a good guy. Hopefully he can find a club where he can contribute. I presume the Rockets will convert Clemon's contract now???
The way James Harden is playing, this is the year to go into the luxury tax. IMO, Morey has to make moves by the trade deadline to make sure the rockets have the right wings/versatile 4s to add depth to compete against the Lakers/Clippers in the playoffs.Harden will get double teamed/forced to give up the ball more often with the way he's scoring. Westbrook will be able to play off of that but we will need our shooters ready to light it up no matter if it's the regular season or playoffs.
Crazy stuff Just 1 year ago this was the guy people were saying Harden needed on the court in order to be great because just him being out there created "so much space" Just imagine going from the guy that made Harden as great as he is to being out of the league. Oh well, happy trails Ryno.
imo, the waive v trade is an indication that we intend to favor CCS over LTS. (CCS = Cash Considerations Savings) btw: MCW cost $1.065m in Cash Considerations last year, so I think Bima's "few hundred thousands" is a tad optimistic ... especially if other GMs/Owner are truly pissed at Morey for The Tweet, and make him pay a CCS premium for doing him LTS favors ... vs blackballing Rockets to pay into the tax pool.
Tilman was hit the most in the pocketbooks from the tweet. He's pissed at Morey. There's no way he's going to pay an additional premium for trades because of Morey's tweet.
