Do Ben & Chris, potentially, make EG expendable in a deal for the right wing?

This is why I wouldn’t have given Eric Gordon an extension.

Gave the wrong guy an extension.....should’ve been Tucker.

I realise that, but the fact is they have to resign Jason tatum this summer and unless they do well this year they may decide to trade hayward....It would have to be some sort of 3 way trade...and i'm not just referring to those three...i'm saying a small forward in their tier, who are all better than Covington IMO.

I would love the addition of a wing with some length to match up against bigger teams, but not at Gordon's expense. When he is hot he can be better than anyone on this team at hitting the 3's. With that factor, along with his experience, we will need him in the playoffs. I would much rather see our owner dig deep in his pockets, pay the luxury tax, and get us that player another way.

another reason Gordon may be traded...to free up cap space for tucker this summer...I think they had to give him his extension or he would have left us with no assets coming back. they didn't want to lose him for nothing...

I don't think there's any way we don't resign tucker......he's the heart and soul of our defense and too damn valuable...he's worth trading other players and going into the tax.

Covington's stats are okay and his D is good, his team doesn't look good to you because the Timberwolves do not have Veteran leadership.

Their overall D isn't that good.

Sure, if you can get a better player than RoCo, more power to you.

I'd rather have EG than him and just roll with house.

I'm taking this question a step further. DOES IT MAKE WESTBROOK EXPENDABLE? I say it does (I also say Westbrook makes Westbrook expendable).

Westbrook to Miami for Justise Winslow, James Johnson and whatever picks we can recoup!

Even though he already is, there's no way they'd do it unless we are a complete failure in the playoffs...

James Harden wants him here, so unless the fans and media start totally turning on him, I don't see that happening...

Also Miami is doing well with hero and Nunn...they may have wanted him before, but do they still want him?

The right wing may make EG expendable.. not our current bench

Seems like there is no point to have this discussion considering that we can't even trade EG this season. Besides, Ben/Chris would have to keep this up this consistency throughout the season plus show up in the playoffs.

IF we could trade Gordon this season, the answer is no.

Assuming a team wishes to take his contract. Turns 31 y/o next month.
    Next year due $16.9 M (turns 32 y/o in 20/21 season)
    Then $18.2 M (turns 33 y/o in 21/22 season)
    Then $19.6 M (turns 34 y/o in 22/23 season)

Non guaranteed in 23/24 season of $21 M is appealing. (Turns 35 y/o)

You may be right on some team wanting him; but I wouldn’t. I would just go younger. Often when players reach
age of 30 in the NFL and NBA, they get kicked to the curb. Has something to do with Pace of the game and injuries.

Again, I wouldn’t have done it. It’s a D’Antoni thing about comfort of running Eric Gordon with the starters along
with Harden at SF. I hate it and think it’s garbage. Team can run anyone next to Harden and look as good.
    Clemons for instance. Just MHO

Clemons looked good one time. I hope he keeps it up cause he's fun to watch. But lets not act like EG at sf didnt win us plenty of games last year.

Phoenix gave Trevor 15 million last year because he was a good vet to pair with a rising star in Booker.....as long as he get back to his usual self he's a great player to give a team spacing, even if they are just trying to help out their rising star...

Look at how much new York gave Marcus Morris....

I just don't see what teams would take him, possibly Atlanta they have a few 'off the radar' playerswe could trade for, back to the Pelicans for one of their wings? Knicks?

Maybe they make themselves into potential trade pieces.
