The stage is set with EG out, and Beard at the height of his powers.
He cements his legacy this year.

It's possible but man he has so much on his shoulders every year. Hopefully his teammates play well to lessen the burden. Play well in the postseason too.

If he must... But if not necessary, I would rather see a balanced stat sheet. It's good for chemistry, confidence among the rotational players and better in the playoffs.

With our increased pace, I think it's very possible for him to average 40 even with EG healthy. Now with EG out the gate is wide open for him to take his scoring to the next level. I thought we might see Wilt Harden this year. I'm ready to enjoy the ride. The 1 seed may come down to health.

Who would have thought he'd still be averaging video game players after we got Russ. What is going on?!

But can he do it in the playoffs?

But can he do it in the finals?

But can he do it without Russ?

But can he do it standing on one leg, trapezing over a pool of live alligators?

I doubt 40 avg. but he should stay around where he is now and lead the league.

He'll average 39.4 and the talk show hosts will all be like, "yeah but it wasn't 40 a game. MJ would've averaged 40."

FWIW - I’m ready for Russ to go unleashed, as well.

You hope not 40 or you hope not promised land?

Plow is the GARM’s parade leader for positivity. The gent’s insight is also interesting.

I won't be impressed unless he averages 40.1

40 …. that's crazy but possible. I wouldn't bet on it …. but stranger things have happened.

He averaged that over 2 months last year when the team was hit with injuries and the melodrama …. but to do it for a full season ?

One thing to consider is the increased pace. He averaged 36.1 last year while they were near the bottom of the league in pace , this year he's at 38.2 and hasnt really been hitting shots at his career averages and a significantly faster pace.

He could go on a hot streak and pull off 40.

thinly-disguised MDA will run Harden into the ground therefore MDA should be replaced by Dave Joerger thread

I'd rather him average between 25-30 ppg on 50/40/90 with low turnovers and good D while reducing his minutes to 32mpg than 40ppg in 38mpg on poor shooting high turnovers and bad D.

But that's just a pure fantasy at this point.
