We usually agree on things, but I think Rivers has been a better defender than Gordon.

 

This explains the slow start. I can see why he wouldn't want this done in the offseason with him being in the extension window. One would think that he would have had it done at the beginning of the season, but maybe it was feeling better and he felt he could play through it. You HATE to see it!

 

Harden is going to have to go Super Saiyan again. Hopefully he can hold up and role players can hit shots.

To me rivers has been pretty bad defensively and we know now gordon has been bothered by a knee issue. either way I would never expect Rivers to be defensively what gordon was to Donovan Mitchell a few months ago and how gordon is able to hold his own against bigger players similiar to how harden does. I remember rivers specifically mentioning in his media day that whenever he checks in the game, he wants to be assigned the best offensive player. definitely not something I've seen much of so far.

 

I agree with you that Gordon plays bigger players better than Rivers. For the most part Rivers plays well against smaller and faster players. I suspect he will be defending a lot of point guards when on the floor.

 

i guess having a surgery wouldn't look pretty during a contract negotiation?

based on the front office track record i fully expect ego to be out 2 months minimum

If Rockets had Chirs Paul I would have no worries because he is so smart. I still don't know about Russ. It's all brute force no guile. We will see.

Give rotation minutes to Clark.. I know he hasn't been great during regular season minutes (apart from that fire start of last year that booted Melo out) but I'm (like most I assume) a believer in more reps, better player.
We can let other players shot develop during the season, why not his?
