Joerger has been a head coach for the last 6 seasons, the 1st 3 in Memphis. 2 days after Memphis fired him, the Kings hired him. They fired him after this past season. Whenever someone talks about firing our coach, his name pops up. (not bad for not being able to sleep this morning.
Thanks for informing me! I thought something crazy happened that warranted all these threads popping up, but I guess it comes down to the usual GARM wackiness
Probably @BasketMAD , he believes that Joerger can can be our knight in shining armor and take us places that MDA hasn't. LOL
He's by far the best available coach, and because after firing him Sacramento has been absolutely horrible, his value has been illustrated even more. However he is also one of the most difficult personalities to work with for players and staff and has had problems in every team he has coached.., so if we ever did the mistake to hire him when the situation could end up being volatile btw Harden and Westbrook anyway, we would be suicidal.
I think that's probably smarter than doing the same thing and hoping one day--after 10+years--an MDA team makes it because you just want to be comfortable.
Dave Joeger's barber confirmed to me today that Joeger is coming to Houston. Rep now, ask questions later.
And what if we do WORSE with someone like Joerger?? (which given D'Antoni's record with the Rockets is likely) I just don't understand how others like you think that 'any' other coach with a suit and tie is just going to surpass what MDA has done with us already. I've already reminded you that MDA has the 2nd best NBA record over the past 3 seasons. So Joerger is likely to top THAT?? Right? Based on what exactly??
THIS. .. exactly. The players love D'Antoni and his 'green light' style. Particularly James who has been and MVP candidate each year during MDA's tenure here. Bringing in some hard core coach could destroy chemistry all around and implode the team. If your stars aren't happy, ain't nobody happy
Well, I think that record has much less to do with MDA and more to do with Harden and the shooters/defenders around him. Last year and this year have been mediocre. Last year's team was really mediocre, and he had no part in those wins, especially when Harden went super Saiyan.
So, according to YOU, D'Antoni's stellar record over the last 3 years has very little to do with his system or his coaching. It's just the players? A 3 year track record is no fluke my friend. 1/2 a season, maybe. But runner-up for best in the league over a 3 year span is hardly by chance So Dave Joerger has a BETTER system and is a BETTER coach? Right. . . . . You realize that you are saying Joerger could have been the BEST coach in the league? Apparently 30 other teams disagree with you as he is currently unemployed this season. I"m not saying that he's a BAD coach. I'm just saying you are delusional
I'm throwing a birthday for my nephew soon. Does Dave Joerger do paid appearances? I want him to grow up and be better than Nate Archibald. Surely the coaching prowess of Dave Joerger can make that happen. Best coach ever.
