I'm simply looking at wins bud, you know the only stat that really matters? But not even to mention I've watched the Kings STARTERS get blown the **** out multiple times, but they're the second best in the entire league?? Got it...This is a classic example of why people hate us and our analytics, flaunting some goofy ass stat when we've yet to prove a damn thing.

It's been 8 games, so many other variables here.

    1. Who was the competition
    2. What games did certain lineups coincidentally play together

Again, the Rockets could coincidentally have the best starting 5 in the league. There's not enough sample size to gain much from this stat.

A lot of variables, yes, but it's better this way than the opposite. Imagine if the starting lineup was the worst in the league :O

I don't see the greatest-team-of-all-time Warriors on that list. :D

I’m not disagreeing with anything you are saying. My only point is Capela is part of the unit that has a 90 DRtg, which I believe is best in the league. Before Morey trades him, he needs to run all the numbers and figure out what the drop off defensively is when you play Westbrook-Harden-House-Tucker-Chandler, for example. Basically, he needs to figure out how much of a role Capela plays in that 90 DRtg before deciding whether to keep or trade him.

I completely agree that Capela is the most tradeable asset the Rockets have, and if I could get a 3&D power forward with length and a rim-running center that provides good rim protection and decent rebounding abilities, I’d definitely consider it.

But isn’t that what most rational posters have been saying? As such, there wasn’t enough sample to gain from the perceived slow start.
We can make observations on issues but we can also take data on the positives understanding that teams are not static.

I am also not disagreeing with what you said but clearly the Rockets do not have much time to wait on Capela. He has to deliver quickly and now!

Hate to see some team like Toronto stealing a ship but they deserved it and it was good for the league.

Just pure luck with Kawhi, Siakam, Gasol and their youngs.

Houston just does not have the financial wiggle room.

I find this stat a tad misleading; small sample size, not passing the eye test, etc. Let’s say it is true, and the bench is the problem. So awesome the Rockets dumped all their assets, picks and expiring to save some money last year.

depends on who's playing well and matchups

we may even see both playing

it's on the coach and his staff to make the necessary adjustments

Gordon’s best years with the rockets were with him coming off the bench and all of a sudden we keep trying to force him in positions that he isn’t optimal at.

The guy is a 6th man scorer. Nothing more, nothing less.

When he’s got it going offensively, he’s an asset. When he doesn’t, he’s one of the biggest liabilities in the nba.

I agree that the Rockets don’t have years to wait on Capela to figure it out. Either he’s an integral cog in the Rockets’ winning a championship this season, or he’s traded for a combination of players that helps get the team over the hump. Morey has to make that determination quickly.

You are simply looking at wins, because you are simple. :D Is that you Charles Barkley?

Why do you care what people "think of us"?

(Also, The King's starters have not been blown out this year, the bench has)

I’m patiently waiting for his response, he’s getting roasted so he probably won’t post in this thread anymore.

I’ve been advocating for house on the starting 5 since last year

However seeing Sacramento as number 2 and PHX 3 made me pause about that stat

It all seems to come back to size/length.

Our starting unit is also our biggest/longest unit. Anytime House, PJ or Capela sits, we go to a 3 guard lineup.

Our rotation right now looks like this:

Guards: Harden, Westbrook, Gordon, Rivers, McLemore

    Forwards: PJ, House

    Center: Capela, Chandler

We will get better, but not good enough to make it to the top 10.

We’ve got to get some size at forward that can fit into this scheme. My guess is we look at the buyout market.
