I was trying to cut some SLACK, give these people the benefit of the doubt. Trying to be OPEN MINDED and nice. Give Spring Branch and that area slightly northwest of the Heights some street cred. But me, I'm INSIDE the loop. STILL.

I'm just curious how much people who own trucks actually need a truck. I don't think you need a truck unless you're a contractor.

I'm not a contractor and have a truck. This weekend we were at the NY State Dryland Challenge. Kinda hard to do that without a truck, especially for the folks who are hauling a dozen or more dogs and various rigs.

and if you hunt it's pretty weird (but I suppose not impossible) to put your deer in the back of a Prius

That makes sense if you're hauling or towing things frequently, or work on a farm.

I'm tired of seeing suburbanites drive oversize trucks for a daily driver.

With the right tongue weight, you can move most anything without a BIG truck, but I dont mind people with bigger trucks, unless its a super jacked up truck with 40 inch tires. I mean, why?

Also, I like how the guy from New York is defending big trucks against Texans. Its kinda funny.

Is this like one of those cartoons in the paper where you count how many things are ****ed up?

Because this is a totally Whiskey Tango operation you're showing here. Just at a cursory glance I'm up to about 7.

This is off a forum where this guy pulled that backhoe down the street with that little Nissan.

It really irks me when people who mostly drive alone purchase 4-door vehicles. You do NOT need all those doors !!!

I also prefer a low-profile vehicle during floods. Better to be stranded than still rolling.

    That's a tractor, not a backhoe.

"Down the street"? Why not just drive the tractor?

Your second pic looks more safe and legit, your first is basically a lesson on how to do everything wrong. I've seen lots of "did its" that never should have been tried in the first place.

Whatever the hell it is, its a big ass piece of equipment and he added some leaf springs to it, IIRC. Either way its pretty amazing. That second photo is of a little Nissan truck with a gooseneck. Also insanely amazing.

Yes, just amazing, as long as you don't have to move it far, or over any hills, or get up above 45mph, or care about your tires, etc.... That sounds quite practical for most people.

Yes, of course, cause that guy clearly plans on making a trip the length of the nation in that setup. The guys having fun with his farm truck, being pretty creative and you wanna **** on that? I think its pretty cool.

Yep, sure do, because it's dangerous and sh!tty and would probably give dumbasses the wrong idea. The world is not short of dumbasses, if you haven't noticed.

Again, why not just drive the tractor from points A to B?

Cut Ziggy some slack, his schtick is cute, he grew up wherethehellever, had to live in College Station for a few years, and then moved to Houston and likes to pretend that he's the first person under 60 to discover InnerLoop Houston and everyone else just has no idea how cool it really is. He'd fit right in in today's Austin.

The front end of my car is super low by factory design so I'm always wary of destroying my front bumper by the parking lot bumper. Thus I reverse in most of the time.

Tractor driving gives me this vision....

It's not always illegal to drive 20mph during perfect conditions on a highway. Happens plenty in the Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas area.
