This. It’s how she’s connecting with Trump supporters that matters. I still find her phony but that’s most politicians. I still think she’s giving out a bunch of simple answers to complex questions. “Non interventionism” is a perfect example of that, such an easy answer to a complex problem.
Yep. Tulsi is either playing the spoiler for her own ego (now that she won’t seeking re election in Hawii) or to stick it the Dems. Either way she needs to shove off. We got plenty of spokesman and opportunists already.
Also need to consider where she would get votes. If she takes votes in California or conversely Oklahoma, its a fart in the wind. What can she pull in OH or PA or FL? And, in those swing states, who will she really be "stealing" from? Is she attracting Democratic voters who are too stupid to realize the implications of their vote or conservative voters who are fine with letting Trump win but want plausible deniability that they were in any way responsible for the resulting catastrophe? But, I'm still not buying she does any better than Stein anyway. Maybe we'll see.
you're right jig, it wouldn't. Dems should be encouraging her third party run and throwing money her way in order to help her succeed.
no that's true, in my home state of NY every vote is a wasted vote if you're not voting the Dem ticket. I have cast an Anyone But Cuomo vote for what seems like the last four lifetimes and it hasn't mattered one bit. Same with my Anyone But Clinton vote -- she still took NY. But in the swing states? I think Gabbard does some damage. real damage, if she gets that far.
I was an Anyone But Hillary in 2016 and settled 3rd party. I am now Anyone But Trump ... and the Democrats are not making it easy with Biden, Warren and Sanders as front runner. At least Tulsi is not a complete waste like Gary Johnson. How did we ever go from 8 years of Obama ... to this.
Don't see why he deserves roll-eyes. She seems at least close to as appealing to those conservatives fed-up with Trump as to disaffected Dems. (I actually don't know any Dem voters who like her much. Yang is a different darkhorse entirely.) Even on here, those leaning right of center seem more enthused about her than all the leftists do. And her most venomous criticism comes out at DNC and the Clintons, rather than Trump, where she gives measured criticism. Her meltdown over HRC's swipe at her sounded, as I said, like a Rush Limbaugh call in. So... in the Midwest swing states, would she siphon more from disappointed or worried-about-crimes former Trump voters, or would she siphon more from the Dem ticket. It would depend largely on the Dem ticket, I would guess. But I could see her taking some Trump votes for sure.
Because for 8 years a group of folks tried to convince another group of folks that Obama was a secret Muslim who hated America and it was believed. You can’t just unswitch that. Joe Welsh, who engaged in that behavior, seems to understand he pushed it too far and it’s too late.
Honesty , I didn’t like that HRC attacked her But , while I understood that Tulsi was probably pissed (and it might even be personal) her statements coming back and attacking Hillary were in poor taste It demonstrated to me that she didn’t have the ability to keep her cool , and that’s kinda disqualifying for a commander in chief
I honestly don't think you're paying attention to what ANYBODY is saying here, but if you want it spelled out: if Warren, Sanders, or (to a lesser degree) Buttiegieg are the candidate, moderate and conservative Dems are going to be casting another Anyone But the Authoritarian Socialist vote, i.e., their second straight Anyone But Hillary vote. (I take it this is the main reason Mayor Pete is drifting toward the center.) Biden doesn't suffer from THAT problem, but he suffers from other problems. Faced with a choice between Warren and/or Sanders on the one side and Trump on the other, some--and maybe many--Democratic voters are going to be looking to vote but will not want to vote for Warren/Sanders or Trump. HERE IS WHERE THE VOTE FOR THE THIRD PARTY CANDIDATE COMES IN. And the fact that she is increasingly a Hillary Hater is icing on the cake. Honestly I don't know how to spell it out any more clearly for you. Please don't ask me again.
here you go. let's say there are a decent number of Democratic centrists and conservatives who feel as Manchin does here . . . they might just swing to Gabbard as easily as shift their support to Trump.
I see what you are saying, but I have seen very little evidence of that being the case. I think it is far too early to predict what voters will do until after we have seen the actual nominee going against Trump with no other noise. Both candidates will have a spotlight on them. That will help and/or hurt in ways that aren't entirely predictable at this point.
This makes no sense. 1st of all there are no Authoritarian Socialist candidates and if you think there are you are not gonna be voting for a Democrat anyway. But thanks for revealing yourself as a fake democrat again. What metrics are you using that you think some and maybe many of democratic are looking to vote 3rd party and not Republicans? What about those never Trumpers and suburban women?
