Shift****ed. Throwing outside fastballs to Eaton and he killed us in games 1/2. Throw an outside breaking ball to Rendon and he kills us. You have to tailor the shift to the hitter and the pitch.
I know he gets stronger as it goes on but JVs fastball velocity and control has been less than optimal for a bit now to say the least
I mean guys, all of these hits are little grounders, one beat out, the other finding the gap in the shift, one bunt to move Turner into scoring position...it's not like he's getting rocked. They are just playing small ball, hopefully all they get out of it is this one run.
Or at least don't throw a ball breaking down and away where contact will likely lead to the giant hole. Frustrating.
The Nationals start of game 6 much like they did game 1 and 2. Soft contact for hits due to our bad shifts.
