Question about blackouts for Rockets fan in San Antonio

    Hey guys, I have never been able to figure out blackout rules. Thankfully they don't apply to me because I live in Lufkin and have Direct TV. But my brother recently moved to San Antonio and is trying to figure out how to get Rockets games. He has AT&T Uverse so he gets AT&T Sportsnet, but last year he would get blacked out from Rockets games. He's been able to watch the preseason games this year though.

    He's not on the board so he wanted me to ask for him. Did blackout rules change this year to where he could now get them?

    And if not, will he be blacked out even if he gets League Pass? Last year he moved in the middle of the season and didnt want to pay for league pass for half a season.

    Appreciate any responses!

    In Eugene, OR I was blacked out for Warriors and Kings games. The NBA is drunk with blackouts. VPN.

    Get a fire stick or get the league pass that’s broadband ok. And also buy a VPN. When you are watching rockets games on league pass and u AirPlay it on your TV. Use the VPN and literally change it to any city other than Houston Austin and San Antonio. You should be good. If you live in a weird city. Please don’t buy league pass on ur TV provider. Please buy the broadband and use Firestick, Apple TV, etc with a VPN.
    FYI, you can also use VPN, to book flights. Flying to a popular destination from your city? Change your country on vpn and book from the new country. Not even kidding the price goes down.

    Uverse blackouts Rockets game in San Antonio area because the spurs and sean elliot SUCK!!!!

    Hopefully reddit nba streams will still be available for us cord cutters outside of the H-town area.....

    When i had league pass Rockets games were not blackout restricted but the spurs were.. :D

    I went with hehestreams this season...$100 for the season, and no blackouts

    I watch any game I want

    Yes, was the case for me but that was 2yrs ago.
    Only games that face blackout were vs the spurs but those air on the local ch..

    I don’t want to say the streaming service that I use out loud but if you DM me then I’ll tell you. I’m too paranoid about losing this service like I did reddit.

    I pay for the streaming on NBA League Pass. It's good but can be choppy at times. I can get where he's coming from. Cable/satelite is just more reliable.

    Honestly I feel the broadband is better, I can airplay it to my TV, I can watch off my iPad, and I can watch off my phone if anything

    This is horseshit. It's not news to me but just because the vipers play here doesn't mean we get easy access to Rockets games here in the RGV.

    Fair enough...I use to have league pass but with all the black outs and terrible feed I went to the dark side. Best of luck to you I’m way too millennial to help with cable problems haha.

    Luckily it’s not an issue for me. I have DirecTV and never have to worry about blackouts where I live. And if I did have to worry about it I would for sure find a good stream.
