If Alvarez has like 5 hits this series it's probably already done with. He keeps getting chances and does nothing with them.
Just move him towards the plate and towards the pitcher. All the way. Yeah, he'll get fastballs blown by him, but his stance is surrendering the low inside and low outside pitches. He cannot physically hit those pitches where he stands the way he swings, so it's entirely up to his eye to lay off them.

Yeah, I believe in 2nd chances for young players---see Urquidy earlier---at a certain point, you have to cut your losses. He's hit some balls hard, but he just looks totally at sea these last few at bats. Out of rhythm, thinking, not anticipating. Diaz can't be worse.
