That balances out the rotation more. House is longer than Gordon and we desperately need that

This needed to happen.Play his role...maximize efficiency, while cutting down the risk of injury.

This move needs to be permanent. With Harden and Westbrook starting, Gordon's potential as a shooter was not going to be maximized. Coming of the bench, Gordon can take as many shots as he wants.

not expecting this to mean much. especially in a preaseason game without everyone playing for the spurs. it's just a chance to see what happens in a game that doesn't matter. gordon starting was already established well into the summer. i don't see that changing in a preseason game with the season opener a week away

A LOT depends on House's shooting. If he can't spread the floor for Westbrook, we go back to Gordon in a nano-second.

    All for show

Doubt Gordon makes so much money and comes off the bench.
If House does well then he gets more minutes......off the bench.

Makes sense if house can be consistent

Put him back with starters. Forget balance. Balance by adjusting the minutes. James needs another scorer/spacer out there.

Ppl still havent learned from the Spurs. Don’t matter if you start or not. All that matter is minutes and situation on the floor.

With EG, what matters is consistency. I don't think he adjusts to change well. He needs to understand his role, whether it is starter, or bench.

He’s a 10 year veteran. That shouldn’t be an issue for him at this point. He needs to be a professional and accept whatever role the coach decides for him that make us a better team

It doesn't matter what should or shouldn't be an issue for him.

What matters is what maximizes his production. From his struggles having his role changed against the Spurs in the playoffs 3 years ago, to his struggles as he comes back from mini in-season injuries, EG has proven to me, time and time again, that it takes him a bit to get comfortable with his role. 10 year veteran or not, I think that's fine. He's not a super-star. He's not even an all-star. He's a near all-star level player that requires the right role and consistency to be maximized.

Personally, I prefer him off the bench for the obvious reasons - gets an "actual" SF in the game, distributes scoring, helps MDA do what he wants rotation wise which is have 2 of the 3 of him, Harden, Russ in the game at all times.

But whether off the bench, or starting, he needs to know his role and be comfortable in it.
