Buck did not sound like he wanted to talk to Verlander at all. A pitcher of his caliber, talking while Cole is pitching, seems like it would be intriguing conversation.
Cole is struggling putting guys away more than normal. For most of the past two seasons there haven't been a lot of foul balls with two strikes.
Boom. Yanks seem geared up for Cole's FB upstairs...fouling a bunch of them off...if he can get his curve going he's got these ****tards in his back pocket.
50 pitches through three innings. We will need to go to the pen a little earlier unless Cole gets locked in. Maybe Verlander's wife and Joe Smith's can jello wrestle during the 7th inning stretch.
Some of it has been mechanical but I don't think his command is quite as good. Ideally we pull him around 100 pitches. Some of it is that this Yankees line up is nasty. I wouldn't say it is fatigue.
Hes playing on the road for the first time this offseason. He hasnt pitched in outdoor cold weather in awhile. Let him settle in. Relax guys we're up 2-0. Cole will hit his stride.
for as much of an idiot that smoltz is , hes right about cole .... his FB command was a little off Once he settles in its game over
Correa is like the Puerto Rican version of Ashton Kutcher from That 70's Show........ but with a 75/80 arm and 70/80 bat.
