I warned this would be a huge deal moments after the tweet. It isn’t going to end soon and once Silver didn’t completely remove Morey, it would be league wide.

    The CCP is dirty.

The milk powder issue is not just about the food inspection or regulations, it’s about business ethics and corruption issues.

You have vaccines are fake, wines are fake, even on their video app, they provide visual effects to allow you to ‘fake’ your looks to be prettier, how pathetic is that?

Lol, China is reaching here, it is one thing to take away a team, a whole other to take away all the teams.

The Chinese love basketball, this will not go well for them.

But do you have evidence that the whole state is behind it, from what transpired it was the works of greedy private group of ppl.

Chinese Law has been porous and catered to the rich, that is a big problem.

Some get off really easy, while other are being persecuted.

Funny thing is Xi was known as a fighter against corruption, that is why some loved him so much.

I haven't been to China often or listened to the News, so I cannot say what has been happening lately.
You probably know more about things.

Milk Powder issue is at least 9 or 10 years old. At least.

The NBA needs China (by far) more than China needs the NBA.

The vast majority are viewing this in a skewed manner. This is not the United States against China. This is the NBA vs China. Both have their commish. The NBA as a whole, including players, have progressively over stepped their bounds in the name of greed. Competition comes second to money. Dabbling in politics when most fans want to watch a game, not the political opinions of the masters.

The paltry NBA is no match to China. The greed of the NBA itself, its owners and players have forced them to bow to China.

I hope this is just the beginning. Kudos to Morey for upsetting the apple cart of these greedy ****ers.

You're delusional. Basketball is becoming more popular globally. Countries want to participate, not just watch a bunch of spoiled entitled prima donnas in the United States.

The NBA wanted global, now they got it. THey are biting off more than they can chew. Its only a matter of time before top talent start choosing teams across the globe and get outside of the broken NBA.

I honestly don’t care, if China wants to overreact because we have free speech, oh well.

What country’s government will decide to put sh’t int into their baby foods to kill its people?

Of course the corruption was done or planned by individuals.

But the problem is the culture, when they said oh Xi had been working on a lots to crack down the corruption but yet again, it’s themselves-the people to cry their lungs out for those issues.

The culture in mainland is that corruption is ok because everyone is doing it anyway, especially when I need the favor, and because they value money and power only, and always ok with copying and stealing on intellectual properties, there is no business ethics.

Yeah but it happened in 2008 as I looked it up. Xi didn't ascend the throne until 2013 I believe.

I know and you are fully right but it was a one time thing, at least for children goods.

I dun think governing 1.4 billion is an easy job. The Chinese mentality is to do under the table dirty business, and they like gambling like mahjong.

I think a democracy would fail too if the ruling party was right wing populist or radical left wing idiots tbh with you.

At some point businesses have to learn there’s a cost to doing business with China. You gain the worlds largest market, but you’ll definitely get bent over somehow and someway. It’s inevitable, morey’s tweet was just the match that lit this sucker on fire.

Im good with this....just like any strained relationship that might end in divorce, it’s forcing a reckoning of values and principles. Somethings people are willing to overlook for the sake of a relationship. Until you can’t overlook anymore and force the issue. I think we’re past that point and values have to take precedence.

Yeah, this take isn't it. It seems you're mad that NBA players spoke out on issues that you didn't want them to and now you think of this as some comeuppance for them.

    How is the NBA broken?

And seriously, what happens to the nba without China? The players and owners get less money. That’s it. Less money in cap space to use. Less money for the hardens, Kd’s. Really for the zions of the future of the nba. But where else are these players going to play? Spain? The NBA isn’t losing talent and recruiting pull by not having China’s money.

The NBA was fine before, it’ll be okay without them. Everyone will have less money but they’re already making ridiculous money to begin with. It’s not like the NBA is competing with other global organizations for talent.

the difference? north korea doesn't even get televised nba games. whatsoever. the only person who can watch nba games in north korea is kim jong un.

you're right in that north korea shouldn't be let off the hook... but you know what's funny? even kim jong un the psychopath doesn't throw a b****fit when the western world says something mildly offensive about north korea these days.

also, the one country who has the most power and influence to fix the whole north korea situation, the one country that provides north korea most of its resources, the one and only country that north korea will actually listen to (CHINA), isn't doing jackshit. they could easily tell little brother to stop being a turd.. and yet they don't. what does that tell you?

The thing is China wants to do business internationally but ALSO run their propaganda machine.

It just doesn't work that way, North Korea understands that, it understands that it can't open its internet to its citizens without them seeing that their country lies to them.

China is pissed because Morey's tweet cut into the propaganda they run by their citizens.

It's hard to smother the truth, harder when you're asking everyone else to keep your dirty secrets.
